Been a special kind of horny for this since the last. The bloodlust to slaughter legions of demonic hordes is at last being quenched with utmost gratification.

On a serious note: Apart from the one major blemish for the sign up to Bethesda.net to sync up your Steam account, the game has retained flawless performance upon launch with tremendous art direction through out the brief campaign progression, an attestment based on which one may declare having received the full worth of their expenditure, under a heavy assertion for the latter to be auspicious, that's unlikely to grow insipid.

Time to Rip and Tear as we profusely secrete our testosterone.

Edit: Nominated as title for the " Game of the Year " Steam award.

A vacation one never asked for...
...with every scenery an absolute splendour

Thoughts and impressions:

To start off, despite being on radar, must confess to state that it's quite outrageous for me to have stalled on such a brilliant jewel of a runner. Never had it occurred to me that behind such a first person platforming, open world parkour-esque title would incorporate such a visual treat under its veil. The first encounter with this one was strictly out of curiosity, in a moment what grasped my attention were the serene landscapes and breathtaking vistas that met my eyes. A simple try-out turned out to be an entire session, sacrificed were the hours of post mid-night which compromised my sleep, yet so, time well spent.

An in-depth look into Valley:

As an explorer, you are equipped with an exoskeleton code named L.E.A.F suit in search of an elusive Item known as the "Lifeseed", said to contain incredible powers. You reach a remote area filled with archaeological excavation sites where you explore and unravel the mysteries and wonders of the land at your footing.

The exoskeleton enables one to jump and sprint at an inhuman level with other unique features in your repertoire as you progress. The "moral compass" mechanic is quite fascinating where you're able to take and give Life to other living creatures, either depleting from your energy or adding to it. Though it isn't quite as polished which to me was something that couldn't be overlooked but that's a matter to cover at a later point.

One genius mechanic that came to my notice which was uniquely exclusive to Valley was where you're made to run faster as you're sprinting down a slope or a steep landscape by building momentum, the extra boost provides a greater leverage at jumping, reaching heights otherwise unattainable.

The story is decent at best and has a deeper message but what's disappointing is the fact that it's covered through audiologs and leaves plenty to be desired, however how it compensates is through the remarkably executed environmental design, impressive voice acting, great audio in conjunction with entertaining mechanics and abilities. Valley succeeds in delivering a joyful experience induced of a thrilling escapade with mesmerizing aesthetics.

With the FOV set to max, and a finger instinctively set on the trigger of the F12 key ( Default screenshot hotkey ). As a hobbyist intermediate photographer, had most of my time inspecting the surroundings for the perfect composition to frame.

Constructive criticism with a few nit-picks:

Surely, nothing is ever perfect however there's a need to highlight a few issues, quite negligible though: - Valley is well, short in length with little to no replay value, unless you're an achievement hunter and go through it over again, collecting what was missed through out your journey. Aside from that, if you go sightseeing and explore the vast expansive area, you'd surely find yourself accumulating more hours into it. - A lack of backtracking - if only the unlocked features and upgrades could've been used at earlier stages prior to attaining them, by cleverly implementing their usage there, also which would add to the consistency of their use through out the game. - The moral compass mechanic of it seems heavily flawed and imbalanced due to the energy orbs scattered through out the world, not to mention, they're regenerated after covering some ground which deems taking life as redundant. There was potential here but ended up a missed opportunity due to it being unrefined. - At rare occasions, being caught up in between platforms, restlessly pressing everything operable to escape the predicament, to top it off with no reset key at your disposal. - The dreadful save points. With no manual function to save in-game, you'd have to restart the entire level but that isn't an issue for a short game if you're going to play - The bloom effect in-game is high, the Sun especially is most notoriously affected. Adjusting the brightness may reduce the effect but it is visually tampering as you'd want to stay at a sweet spot. The rays of the sun are at times amiss as well.

Final remarks:

To pay up is as if singing up for a virtual vacation trip, granted lacking thereof was the perception of smell - The fragrance of the mystical land that must've emanated and the somatosensory sensations, the feeling of being basked in the warmth of the glorious sunlight and the touch of gushing wind as you sprint into the wilderness, though in spite of such, the experience was certainly not far off.

Indeed a definite banger, especially at a criminally low price during a sale.

Interested in some "Carpal tunnel Syndrome"?
but more on that later.

Goodness gracious, what a fantastic little game this is!

Initial impressions and sentiments:

At first, the prequel had me so engulfed, the improved iteration seemed imminent but yet my impatience had the better of me and in order to expedite the process, I was prompted to send an email of appreciation along with a wish - The response affirmed what had been foreseen.

To my pleasure, it had a significant face lift, improving upon every conceivable aspect, qualifying it as a worthy successor that deserves investment, especially if the first had been delightfully savored.

Plenty of my fellow acquaintances used to inquire of it whilst I was playing. The silly title drove their curiosity and the over-simplistic premise with a design similar to that of a flash-game had them puzzled, for in my possession were plenty of 'AAA' note worthy titles with a beefy GPU at hand, but yet, my interest was intact and at the time remained my only indulgence of leisure, completely engrossed.

Game-play and Presentation:

Lets talk about the actual meat of it - The animations are silk smooth, the sound effects are just right and the art is appreciatable. There's no story going except the premise being of a Karate Kid off on a journey for whatever reason, while breaking bones and slaughtering legions of men coming his way...just as it should be.

What you're presented with is a 2D level design with enemies spawning from two sides, left or right. - Them, having walked a certain distance, after coming in range, you must press either of the two corresponding buttons to the side in which the assault is taking place to inflict...*slighly blushes* agonizing excruciating pain. Each adversary with a hit variation of inputs that can be single or multiple, the majority being single. The challenge comes in speed of approach, variance and increasing number of them.

In each level, after clobbering down a certain quantity, you're treated with additional weapons, skills and power-ups, that can be unlocked through earning gems which are acquired through out the progression of the game.

Gripe, a warning and a little personal finding:

There are some extra bells and whistles added to the game that serve as more of a nuisance rather than being called as plausible content. One infamously obnoxious little mini-game known as "Flick or Eat " mind you, a requirement for achievement completionists. Readers discretion advised - Involves the player to pull dried nasal mucus or in other words, boogers. Must say, this was extremely revolting, exasperating and quite juvenile to be put in. This along with that clip you get at the end of the game made me question the sanity of the developers. Anyways, apart from that, the game does pose a probable hazard to the wrist due to the notoriously intoxicating and simply satisfying nature, that has the player placing their wrist stationary with fractional rapid movements for a prolonged duration. Just a much needed little digression here in my review to alert my fellow "Gamers", thus deeming taking a pause after certain period of play as obligatory. For emphasis and awareness in such titles, it should be even displayed as a warning at the boot-up. After attaining the 100% achievement completion having no injuries, with nothing else at hand except maybe the survival modes, It feels as if my stats for the Eye–hand coordination and reflexes had an increment of " +1". Quite delighted to realize that even this little mindless engagement had such such a great positive to offer.

Final remarks:

When it tells you ' Do not Button Mash', heed and tend to it well as it's pretty serious. Has to be treated almost as the slogan of 'One Finger Death Punch'.

In conclusion, if you got a thing for games of a nature alike and your interest is piqued, rest assured that you shan't be disappointed with this 2D arcade, beat em up, two button masher.

A New Low on Steam?

A walking simulator where you wander around aimlessly looking for an exit to prompt yourself to the next world. Neither direction nor instructions given with no real incentive for progression. The only saving grace for Wanderlust would be its visuals, because under the hood what it conceals is rather unsettling.

I mean...I'm sorry, but what?

- Shamelessly lowkey advocating the use of (SAM) Steam Achievement Manager for the only achievement available with no other unlockable method? The achievement literally named "Hey, my name's SAM, enjoy your trip."

- Around half an hour or less of play time for 8 bucks?

- Un-optimized textures and copy-pasted assets?

- No Trading Cards since its release in 2017 though indicated on Steam page?

- Misleading specs? 50 megabytes indicated but actually 6.15 gigabytes?

- Usage of supposedly copy-righted music?

Wanderlust is fraudulent and should be removed unless any justification for those points are brought forth.

* Here! You've rightfully earned a negative review.

Rhythmic cuteness extravaganza!

Writing this review out of sheer impulse due to the amusement I've had. Easily, should be a blind purchase for anyone that has taken even the slightest of fascination to it. You simply can't go wrong with this.

First minute in and I'm absolutely captivated by the cutesy and vibrant aesthetic that the game offers. In another few moments, saw myself completely engrossed, losing track of time whilst being exposed to some underrated melodies and tracks that profusely appeal to the masses of the weaboo popculture, such as of course, myself. :3

Muse Dash consists of 3 lovely playable characters with unlockable costumes that are most meticulously fashioned, each with distinctive in-game animations and quirks.
40 tracks are in the base game with an optional addition of 13 music packs that has 6 songs/each pack. Upon the purchase of the DLC, the players will receive 1 pack each month completely for free.

It comprises of two button inputs, now while that may sound quite elementary, underestimated must it be not due to the articulation it has that makes up for a euphoric experience, for indeed inside this brightly lit shell conceals within an engaging rhythmic venture.

Originally, Muse Dash is a mobile game available on iOS / Android, this PC port is polished and faithful to its counterparts with higher resolutions and an unlocked frame-rate for fluidity and pure eye candy bliss.

For a rhythm genre enthusiast, it would pose as rather underwhelming however fortunately, there is a higher "Master" difficulty unlocked, that cranks things up a notch for a bit of a challenge, but can as well be surmounted with practice.

With such a colorfully charming appeal, ebullient design, ecstatic gameplay at a bang for the buck of a price, Muse Dash makes an excellent candidate for gifting to fellow ̶w̶e̶e̶b̶s̶ friends.
Observed some of my own pals playing after being gifted, going at it relentlessly that automatically serves as a compliment to the product.

TL:DR
You know you want it you weeb.

-------------------------------------------

Note to Devs: Kindly, do add in achievements and trading cards to this gorgeously crafted lil game.

Edit: Tradings cards and now finally achievements have too been implemented, Must Dash is now perfect.

The absolute quintessence of " Just One More Round ".

An indie gem with an aim to enslave. This top-down designed, one-hit slasher with vaporwave-esque neon vibrancy would be much reminiscent of the well renowned title, Hotline Miami.

However, conceptually more direct comparisons can be made with the likes of UBERMOSH, Tormentor X Punisher, Slash Or Die and Dark Slash: Hero with a similar underlying platform.

Although, this cyberpunk samurai slasher stands out amongst the crowd, for each of its comprising element being a delicacy that deserves commendation in its own right.

To further evaluate, the price per replayability factor does not equate, especially if, going down the completionist route, which is inevitable due to its roguelite nature, that's utterly gratifying and rewarding, adding to the ecstasy for wanting more.

Quite unfortunate for this arena arcade slasher to not get its worth of exposure.
Admittedly to date, writing of this review, personally, Akane is one of the, if not, the best < 5$ doused at an indie on Steam and is likely to endure its position.

The composition of this draft was initially not intended as a review but more so as a token of appreciation.

An enthralling experience like none other.

This explicit lovecraftian inspried horror title is truly a marvel. From the bewitching ambience to the eerie atmosphere, the exhibition of its content is nothing short of being called "Art".

Never has it ever been for me to be so intriguied & engulfed by a title to an extent of having myself play overnight. Engaged and invested to such an extent that would drive one to be oblivious of the matters of the day to come. The aftermath being profoundly spellbinding having one left stupefied.

It perfectly captured the domain of high-society gatherings with a twist of occultism inspired by H. P. Lovecraft. Plot revolving around religious cultists with a lascivious sexual craving seeking eternal pleasure.

You being the protagonist infiltrating a mansion on a rescue mission, also in an attempt to unravel the enigma of the super natural occurances taking place.
Words alone would not do justice for the themes and the bizarre imagery.

Undeniably, the game isn't perfect & has its fair share of flaws but in comparison to the whole package, they become less apparent and more diminished with an exception of a few that stand out as prominent which wouldn't serve as a deal breaker to many.

One negative aspect was the horrendous boss-fight at the end. Seriously, who was in charge for this attrociously irredeemable segment in terms of game deisgn?

With that said, Lust for Darkness is not to be rushed but rather meant to be played at a slower pace, exploring and appreciating the finer intricate details in its surroundings. Forever would it serve as one of the most memorable experiences.

Matter is...exhilarating yet soothing.
Quite an oxymoron, but it's exactly that.

In this nonsensical, linear, first person platformer, you serve as an entity of sorts without a physical representation having no real objective but to move forward, taking aim and jumping in the direction of a progressive color distinct platform that you're gravitated towards.

The incentive is unknown, some may think of it as a sperm's journey towards an egg, a disease being spread across or just an electron revolving around the nucleus of an atom. In all honestly, you really can't make much sense of it apart from all that serving as an atmospheric, psychedelically visualized, parkour-esque, short lived adventure.

As advertised, it was pleasurable,
however didn't come free of pain.

- A fatal error crash at a progression of 80%. Successfully cleared on 2nd attempt.

- An abrupt loss of audio at Zone 3.

- No options menu or graphical settings. ( likely intended )

More annoying aspects that should be taken note of.

- No option to save progress.

- Does NOT mention that the tap of the ESC key serves as a button to exit (without a confirmation prompt)

- Does NOT mention the fact that this game is meant to be played under one sitting.

- Neither achievements nor trading cards included.

FInal summation:
Although despite what is stated, Matter is unique and caters perfectly to the audience it's meant for. Would be looking forward for more such like content from this indie developer.

Delightful escapade at a cost of a few tolerable nuisances. Grab only if you're into such atmospheric platformers.

Yeah, sex is cool and all but have you guys ever played Dead Cells?!

An absolute delight to play through. While frustrating at times, this Darksouls of a Castlevania game offers heart throbbing action in compliance with some of the tightest controls witnessed to date.

What it embodies to its core is the gorgeous pixel art design in conjunction with buttery smooth animations that scream quality, sound effects along side a medieval melody that serves to compliment each scenario, and a multitude of in-game weaponry, equipments and upgrades to experiment with each run, entirely randomized in a procedurally generated labyrinth like 2D level design.

This indie gem has been polished and perfected throughout with the release of ver. 1.0.
Hands down, the best Metroidvania, roguelike, hack 'n' slasher available.

If this game was a woman, I'd marry her.

Here's hoping for the devs to provide the well deserving 21:9 aspect ratio ultrawide support.

Majestic, enchanting & serene,

...are the very embryonic words that spontaneously appear on the tip of the tongue when enquired of this title.

The profound attention to the aesthetics, mechanics, and delicate details in compliance with soul gratifying sound effects, this shortlived experience is a delight to plunge into.

Glass Masquerade is a work of art, an epitome of craftsmanship, and a masterpiece in the puzzle jig-saw genre, utilizing the gorgeous fragments of a stained glass to form a marvel that symbolically corresponds to one of the 25 well-renowned nations of the world.

I most fervently recommend this.
Here's hoping for a sequel.
