Fun game. Not too punishing even though there is a lot of RNG but you have plenty of choices. You can use food to heal at any time during fights or out of them. Would like to see more unique events with bits of lore. I don't have anything negative to say about this game. I love the art work. There is a story mode and sandbox mode. Good Job devs.

Enjoying the demo. Not sure why all the negativity about this demo. I have good frame rates. It feels quite polished. I don't care for not having vehicle gears, you can switch to low gear, diff lock (on some vehicles), FWD etc when needed. As for there being no fuel consumption or damage to vehicles, I think it is a good thing. You can focus on the job at hand. I recall Mudrunner being way too easy to damage your vehicle and kept running out of fuel and waste time bringing over the fuel truck when playing solo. The damage didn't feel realistic for starters but it got in the way of fun.
Maybe in coop its not so bad if a friend wants to be the fuel guy, but if its just two players that isn't much fun is it. But they could easily add a hardcore mode for fuel and damage (or enable/disable in settings).
Hopefully with settings to allow players to set the sensitivity for damage and fuel depletion rate (which would give a lot of freedom to those who want it just right).

I completed the first challenge. Started the second medium one. I did notice the large boulders being a tad light. Having lots of fun using the crane moving large obstacles. Each vehicle has similar buttons (I used my controller) to do the basic things and the crane took a little getting used to, but it was not frustrating. I don't mind a little complexity if it allows you to do more.

One thing I didn't like, was when connecting power up to the concrete plant, it rebuilt itself in seconds. Maybe it could have several stages of repair states over some time it completes. Like 3 stages, and every 10 minutes it does a stage. At least it wouldn't feel so instant. Sure that is not realistic either but less 'instant'. There is no day and night cycle, in the demo at least. If there was day and night (which could be interesting) perhaps large structures being repaired or whatever could appear finished the next day or day after or whatever.

I haven't yet been able to try coop. So cannot comment on that.

Final thoughts. I like how there is a lot of vehicles and types of jobs to do, it sure beats just hauling things from A to B in mudrunner or snowrunner. I think it would be great if we had an avatar in the game that we can get out a vehicle and have emotes to give directions (like a player backing up or pointing which way to go, no go hand signals), perhaps vehicles go through you on foot if too close or maybe you get knocked over and take no damage. Digging stuck vehicles out and placing boards down to help get a vehicle stuck could be cool if there isn't winch vehicle nearby.

Look forward to full release.

TLDR: Just play it!

This is very fun to play. I love the old school graphics, especially the 3d dungeons, you can even change the color scheme if you wish. There is this nice sfx of the burning torch as you explore. A nice little touch of immersion there.

But what I also love about this game is the amount of options you have, you can interact with some npcs or enemies whom you can align with and ask to join your party. However they often are hostile to other factions so you cannot have a mixed group. And not every enemy can you talk to (esp if they hate your current allies in your party) or attempt to ally with of course. And during combat you can use an ally to do the next round of combat, they need to level up the same way as you do. But at this point in time, as in not implemented, you cannot give them better gear or bandage them. However- like you, when they level up they replenish their health. I often let them deal the killing blow to an enemy to help level up. You can trade with them as well if they can afford it.

Also you can talk about key words you learn about the lore of the game and enquire about them with an npc, which will have a brief paragraph just enough to tap into the lore and your imagination without being pages long.

You don't have to manage food or water, just make sure you got a few torches and some bandages when you go into a dungeon, your torches do run down per movement when in a dungeon. But besides your health you need to watch your sanity meter aka your wits. Every so often when searching for traps you might lose a point of sanity, you can gain it too like when opening a chest and other ways. It does pay to save often. If your health is low you can attempt to sneak past dangerous foes or flee which if successful will have you in the first room near the exit. Or if in dire straits you can opt to yield and lose some items and allies but live. Flee is a great option when you are lost or very low in health, no wasting time trying to find your way back to the exit. If that makes it too easy for you, don't use that option. But its great that it is there. But you might press on and try your luck or just save often.

There are items you can buy that make things a little easier, such as a tent which can be placed anywhere on the world map, be aware enemies respawn when you exit out of a dungeon. But you can only have one tent at a time, but can revisit it as many times as you want to heal and restore wit/sanity. Its your home away from home. Some might think that makes the game too easy, but you cannot use a tent or place one in a dungeon. A compass can be brought that gives you a direction on the dungeon mini-map which is very useful to know which way you are facing. Speaking of the map there is a larger map you can open when in a dungeon, you can even switch the map between floors if you have explored lower down.

Another thing I like is the game has a built in manual.

There are treasure maps to find which give you lat. and long. coords on the world map to find some buried treasure which I believe you need to buy a shovel. There are traders on the world map, one is very obvious to find others not so much but that taps into the exploration aspect of the game. Speaking of traders new items can appear with traders every time you exit a dungeon. Some items do not count towards inventory slot limitations which is nice. But regular consumable items do take up space and you can easily get a full inventory. So you are not going to have inventory management hell like some other games.

There are other things such as capturing enemies with a net you can buy, but I haven't found a net yet.

There doesn't appear to be quests, yet. Maybe there are a few main ones later on, idk. But your main goal is to get out of this realm, the game is focused on exploration and not running around completing quests. Although some optional side quests to gain a unique item or ally might be fun if that was to be implemented later.

So it seems this game is designed for fun and not hardcore play which in my books is great. Some games you can get so frustrated with it, you never play it again. This game is fair. But I could imagine in the future there being a hardcore mode added for those that might want such a mode.

I am not sure what the dev has in mind for future development but i am loving what I am seeing. Good job so far!

If you like gamebooks then I recommend this game. It has it's own differences to stand out. If you die you keep your items and stats but you lose your experience points. Some choices are locked to a needed item or class. There is many stories you can play through with the same character which can have different endings. I believer there are some random encounters as well.

As with other gamebooks it is always a good idea to write down locations as a reminder for the next play or returning to a story, which steam now supports notes for a game when you use alt-tab to see the steam overlay where you can create notes. So this steam feature will complement this game. Also note the developer has written a basic guide in the guides section on steam.

This game is leaps and bounds better than the first one. The differences are enough to say they are distinctly two different games in terms of improvement and previous game mechanics being replaced with something better. I would say it is a little more complex than the first, but not to the degree it has a high learning curve. It's pretty well done in my opinion.

It is arcadey and not realistic, even though it uses the word simulator, however if it was realistic it would be very tedious and time consuming just to get a small area done. Everything is boiled down to the fun factor, just like American Truck Simulator does too.

I find it relaxing and a good chill out game, there is some planning involved and progression.

Currently there is not a ton of variety of ships, but I hope that will change in the future. And the much bigger ships can have some bugs appear if too many objects are dropped. I hope this will be addressed in the near future.

Also coop is coming in a few months (from time of this review), which will really make this game even more fun with working on the same ship with friends. I'm looking forward to that.

Lastly if you are on the fence about this game there is a prologue demo which has the tutorial you can play for free.

This is a fun game. I have been hoping for a rock climbing game like this. Even in it's current EA state is very playable and although there is a little bit of a learning curve to understand the gameplay, it works well once you do.

The keyboard and mouse is the best way to play at the moment (I believe) being able to move each limb is effortless as a player LMB for left hand and Shift+LMB for left foot etc. You use your W and S to control center of gravity by pushing closer to the rock or lowering your center of gravity. If there is unstability there will be a timer bar to get your balance and stabilise before you fall.

There is a lot of thinking involved and there is a route line you can toggle to see which way you are supposed to go up a cliff face. Which is handy as a beginner.

At the moment there is only one female character. Hopefully there will be a male climber in the future to choose as well.

Lastly there is a leaderboard for each climb, apart from the practice area at the start which is a tutorial.

TLDR: It is like a mashup of Squad and Battlefield. In short its more fun than battlefield but trading off voxel graphics for great gameplay and destructive environment. Good gunplay and movement, freedom of building basic defences. Large maps and also small for smaller lobbies.

The Long version:
You quickly forget about the voxel graphics, the gunplay is spot on and movement fluid, where you can vault walls, jump through window frames pretty well. The scopes look good, there is no clunky feeling with the gunplay at all. You can even free look around 180 degrees.
Most of the environment and buildings are destructible. What I like about this game is the map sizes are big and variety of them too. Battlefield maps you tend to get bored of them after a while because they arent that big. For those who perfer smaller matches both in player count and map sizes, there are versions of the maps zoned off smaller that use visible barriers to keep the battle map a good size.

After a match you can vote for the next map and whether you want it to be a day or night. Usually I don't like night maps, but the night vision is pretty good and it kinda is like playing at night with a full moon in terms of amount of light. However there are flares and flashlights which does blind you a bit if you are using the NV. The flares are thrown and do go out eventually.

Progression in this game is very much like Battlefield, level up and unlock new attachments and weapons. Some of the gameplay is borrowed from other games such as the Squad leader can place a Rally Point which is a radio that has a limited number of spawns only your squad can use. The game has ground and air vehicles, but no fighter jets. And helicopters have fast roping (press Z and use the S key to go down the rope). Also note some high buildings have rope lines, I am not sure if a player placed those via grapple hook or they are randomly placed around the map? but you can also cut these if you want to.

Players have a voip channels for their squad and also local area. Other features are being able to ping an enemy but also the environment. Ping an enemy and the marker will be red which these can be seen for a good time before disappearing. However spotted enemies dont run around with a marker on them like in battlefield, so a marker is more like last known position. Which I think is better.

The other thing I like is any player can place down basic defences, anywhere, unlike battlefield where you could only place those in certain places and if you are an engineer.
Other differences to battlefield is when you go down you can be revived by any player, however a medic does this faster and has more medpacks. In fact you can be dragged out of harms way and then healed.
Like all MP Shooters your experience can vary match to match, sometimes your squad works well together and other times not and spreads out all over the map.

Sometimes captured areas are abandoned to only minutes later easily get captured by a single enemy squad rather than stay and defend it. You will get killed alot sometimes due to spawning to close to the action, you can spawn at any squad member or a captured area. And of course you might be on a side that doesn't play as well as the other side and it can feel like a losing battle. But there are fun matches and fun moments where you survive encounters you shouldn't have walked away from. It can be a lot of fun defending an area with a team.

However there is a lot cover and of course cities can be chaotic where there are lots of windows and roof tops. But because the maps are large, including cities you can flank wide and rarely come upon enemy players. Snipers can be deadly, but you can see their scope glint in the sunlight like they do in Battlefield.
Well if you are still reading, you are doing well. Another thing I like is AP mines and the alike won't kill friendlies, you can see a green icon on them to tell you they are friendly. If you come across one with no color marker it wants to kill you, which you can easily shoot it to destory it. Most classes have the ability to place an AP mine. However you would think you would be killed a lot by them, but because the maps are large, not so much. So many ways you can approach an objective.

Ideally you play this with friends as a squad and have a different loadouts to give you more options, such as being able to knock down a wall with a sledgehammer to get into or out of a place in a hurry for example. You can lock the squad so you wont have some random person drop in, should a friend leave the game.

A fun game that is an idle clicker, as to regards of waiting times for some missions to complete in real time, some are short and some are a day or so, with higher rewards for the later of course. This game could have more depth and has potential for that. Some missions require certain skill sets and some missions can fail, which can result in your agent being captured and you can attempt to get them back with another agent. There are some mini-games in which you can earn some gems which is one of the means to buy new agents, the mini-games were okay, but didn't seem to fit the theme of the game. You can ignore these entirely and just log back into the game if you have some long timers running for some missions.
