I've played plenty of turn based combat games as they are my favorite but what they often lack is the proper atmosphere, Even the best of the best which is XCOM 2 doesn't have the atmosphere that Mutant Year Zero have! oh and I definitely should mention that it is also ways ahead when it comes to reliability on hit percentages compared to XCOM.

The first 30 seconds of gameplay immediately checked all the boxes for me! the feels, the ambience, the music, voices, theme, surroundings, everything just felt right!

The character designs and voice acting are remarkable! The dialogues and humor also compliments the dark nature of the game and it's storyline very well.

I am not aware that this game implements stealth quite a bit when I first started and well, Stealth games are not really my favorites. If ever I play stealth games, I prefer games that make direct approach option always viable! I don't want em cramping my style! It's not like the game restricts gameplay for skipping sneaky style but it can become really difficult without it and I feel like it waters down the gameplay experience overall as the game design seems constructed with stealth as a major element. The stealth factor blends perfectly with the bleak apocalyptic landscape and the characters savage but charismatic personalities. The Game just felt so good overall that I had no hard time adapting to a style I'm not used to.

Gameplay works best by always starting to navigate an area with caution while studying the roaming patterns & positions of the enemies and try to whittle them out 1 by 1 using silenced weapons specifically and preferably ending them in one turn before they can call for help. You will do this until you think the remaining group is weak enough to bulldoze through or even in some instances, erase all enemies this way! In my case, I just quietly take down 1 or 2 for immersion then go out guns blazin! It was the perfect amount of challenge for me.

All in all, this game is definitely on my all time favorites! I just wished that the storyline be on a bigger scale. The potential is there! it has the characters to set up the hype for a bigger picture and It should've involve even a couple of crucial missions that requires the rest of the characters/separate parties. Lastly, a faster option for running around would've been very helpful.
