I really enjoyed the first Dead Island. I played through it multiple times. I tried Dead Island Riptide twice but never really got into it. Dead Island 2 looked fresh when it was first revealed, but got stuck in development hell which made me worry what the end result would be.

First off, let me say this game really surprised me! The graphics looks good, the gameplay is a lot better than the first Dead Island and the environments, although small, look excellent. I didn’t really like the starting area of the game, but it soon gets better with better looking and more interesting maps!

The story is… fine I guess. It’s a Dead Island story. Purely there for being there and it adds little to the game if you ask me. You play this mostly to discover the various area’s and meet fun and interesting characters.

Dead Island 2 is just a lot of fun with other people. Messing around, Completing quests, finding interesting weapons and just smashing zombies. Is it special? Nah, not really. Would I pay full price for it? Heck no. But for the right price, with the right friend(s) Dead Island 2 will surely give you a couple of fun nights!
