An absolute blast of a game; Been a huge fan of Tom Francis' since Gunpoint and he didn't disappoint! The gameplay may look like a tactics game like XCOM but, IMO, much more fun. I love how it's tough without being punishing and that even when it does get tough there are many accessibility options.

The story, writing and dialogue are fantastic. Loved everyone's backstory and after spending so much time with Zan, Jen, Banks, Dall & Rion I'm sad to see them go.

This was my first FS game and I've really enjoyed it. From my friends who have more experience with soulsbourne games ER is a culmination of everything they've learned from their previous games.

Currently playing through the SotET DLC and really loving the QoL changes (thank you most recent item tab) and the new weapons that I've found so far. They've expanded the lore into some terrifying directions which has been great.

Originally played the game during early access and was so happy to revisit the game on a whim and see how much had changed. I love the ease at which you can migrate your castle. The game is just the right level of challenge that is really engaging. I love exploring, going after V-blood targets and expanding the tech tree to get new gear.

Loving the game, glad I checked it out again!

I love a lot of things about the game of what I've played so far: the voice acting, the lore, the crafting system, the sweet station wagon

On the game loop, you explore areas to progress the story, gather crafting ingredients and before you leave each zone you need to gather a particular resource that allows you to warp back to your home base. This resource is also used for using the upgrade station (on top of the crafting ingredients)

The world is scary and you do feel you and your car are fighting for your life some times if the right random anomalous conditions are rolled.

The upgrade tree which includes upgrades to you (e.g. backpack size), your car (paneling, engines, new abilities), and your base (machines to make servicing your car easier or breaking down old parts) can be a little overwhelming at first but it's a lot of fun on the old style computers you find in the game.

Having a blast with it, big recommend. Try the demo as it captures quite a large chunk of the game loop.

The combat system is great; I love how it scratches the itch of DOOM 2016, Batman: Arkham Asylum, but in a much more colorful and playful way. The story is passable, and the models are just alright but the gameplay itself is really fun. The game does a great job of teaching you the mechanics and slowly upping the difficulty with new enemy types with gimmicks. The environmental interactions from items (bottles, buckets etc.) and furniture you can knock people into (tables, armor racks) make solving each encounter/arena very fun.

Historically, I'm not a fan of "card" based, repetitive rogue like games, but after watching my buddy play it I was really hooked on the story, the world and the game play mechanics. It's challenging but it becomes addictive very quickly. I've had it for 2 days and I've played it ~15 hours. I feel ridiculous even typing it but the game loop is so dope.

EXCEPTIONAL game. In the same vein as games like Stardew Valley, there's little pressure to do anything in this game as you sail around taking care of things for your passengers. Only a couple hours in but the writing is fantastic, the art is amazing and there is some real heart felt emotions to be felt here. Love the game mechanics that I've seen so far. Can't recommend this enough to folks wanting to take a break. Also, I think this game can feel really therapeutic. A quaint way to pass the time as the new grim reaper :-)

I've played other isometric stealth/RTS games such as Commandos and I really just love the polish that has been put on this game (I've NOT played the previous Desperados games which means I'm probably missing out on some nods to the previous games) Great voice acting, so far a great storyline, the mechanics of how all the characters play together is really fun and challenging. You will die and restart a lot to find the perfect way to clear out the enemies in each level. The only thing I don't like is the way the level challenges are hidden until you complete the whole level first. I'm not so sure I'll be willing to go back through the levels again just to do those.

An excellent metroidvania + a dash of dark souls, title to add to your collection. Fantastic storyline, adorable characters and a legit difficulty curve. You're gonna die a lot and that's only temporarily frustrating! I will say that there are times I wish things were a bit easier when it comes to finding your way around the map. There is a LOT of game here for your $. I've been playing close to 20 hours and I don't think I'm even close to being finished.
