Incredibly short but incredibly good (although Steam didn't want to record my playtime the first time around, for some reason). I'm not usually somebody who likes fast-paced games that mix platforming and combat, but the fact that Grimhook keeps it so simple and streamlined made it feel fantastic to play.

If a longer version of this game ever releases, I'll absolutely be picking it up, because everything here from the voice acting to the limited but interesting worldbuilding is fantastic and I need more of it in my life.

I think this might actually be my favourite game of the last two years or more, if not longer.

Space Haven gives me something I really really like, and that's the ability to feel like I'm taking part in my own Star Trek-style episodic television show. It's not just about the fact that I can build up the ship how I like and make it my own, but that almost everything I've encountered so far has felt more like an... experience than a game, I suppose. And yes, that comes off as pretentious, but let me try and explain what I mean.

While playing it recently, I almost ran out of energy for my generators while hopping between planets. I had to make a last-ditch rush to get more, and that meant switching off most of the ship to conserve power so that my chief Engineer (named Miles O'Brien, naturally) could use the last functioning mining pod and grab some more from a nearby asteroid. It was an incredibly close shave and could have cost me the entire "run", and having it play out successfully was an awesome experience.

In another case, one of my crew essentially sacrificed herself to take a ship hostage: she managed to make the last two people surrender, but suffered major wounds that we didn't have a medical bed to treat. I put her on permanent bed rest and free time, and she died in her sleep a day later. There was nothing I could do to save her if I wanted the same outcome, but that actions of that crewmate were essential to the rest of them surviving later on when we needed more than four people to overcome another attack.

Everything that happens feels permanent, but it's never forced or scripted, unlike permadeath games or games such as No Man's Sky. Ship-building is modular and most events (such as when ships arrive in the same system and shoot at each other) happen entirely by chance, so there's a sense of uncertainty every time I do something. I've had to repair hull breaches while trying to make an escape from pirates, ambushed enemies in nebulas that shut off their shields, and even vented the atmosphere to get rid of a fire at the cost of killing a prisoner I captured.

It's not just a ship with a crew telling a story, it's my ship and my crew telling their story, with the same character deaths, twists, and awesome moments that I imagine when I think of an old sci-fi novel or show.

If you like guns, Payday has a lot of them. Sure, there's DLC and there's skins, but the main part of the game I enjoy is the planning and tactics you can use, if you want to go down that route. It's not as tactical as Rainbow Six, and it's not as fluid as Left 4 Dead, but that's by no means a bad thing.

Payday 2 isn't the best game on the market, but it's unique and it provides a co-op experience you'll enjoy for hours, if you have the right team.

Remember to bring friends.

I make a lot of 3D renders, for various reasons, so I'll be a little biased towards programs like DAZ Studio or SFM. However, I still feel that creating a 3D model to render from is much more convenient than using ePic, which is a shame. It has potential, and I have used ePic to make some art for a non-commercial game project I worked on, but I keep going back to DAZ for my renders and character art. My computer isn't even that powerful, but I can get a high-quality render done in almost no time at all.

On the other hand, if you don't actually care about the way the art looks and simply want a generic character render, ePic is still worth keeping in mind.

I personally recommend ePic, but only to people with no other options. Stick with DAZ or a similar piece of software if you need versatility in your renders, but use ePic for concept art or generic renders if you want to.

I've finished Deus Ex: The Fall six times
I've finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution fourteen times
I'm currently finishing Deus Ex: Invisible War
I've finished Des Ex twice

Wierdly, the game's I've played the least of are my favourite. As such, I would highly recomend Invisible War or the original Deus Ex over this. However, if you want every available game in the series, then you might as well get it on sale or in a bundle if one becomes availabel.

Amazing World is an interesting idea, and one that I can honestly say I enjoy almost completely. Despite being a child's MMO game, it has enough in it to interest most MMO fans, at least to a certain degree.

Originally, I downloaded this game on my sister's laptop to see if she would enjoy it (she didn't really have anything except The Sims 2 & 3). We were both instantly drawn in to the cutesy style and well-designed world that the game presented, and played it for a day straight, max-leveling one of the accouts we made to the highest non-pay level. Once we got back home, I downloaded it on THIS steam account to see if the multiplayer worked. Amazing World is similar to Skyrim in that you cannot play it for just a few minutes, at least if you enjoy the game. Whilst I initally only went on to try the multiplayer, I ended up completing a full character story and earning about 6000 coins!

Speaking of characters, all are well-voiced and each have their own personalities. While I won't list them all, the best by far were Annoying (a navi-like little probe robot with a very teenage-girl-like attitude and style of speech) and Brick (a carpenter who sees himself as fearless but gets scared very easily). Whilst some are locked until levels higher than 10, the ones that we have had a chance to meet are charming and well-made.

Overall, whilst I do enjoy the game, I always feel a bit awkward playing it seperately to my sister (since we spent a while playing it on the same device at the same time). It's worth at least an hour or two of play even if you don't like anything about it. As my sister said, "it's Moshi Monsters, but better".

You see those screenshots up there? Next to the description of the game? Take a look at that last one, pay close attention to it. Take in every detail, every aspect, of that screenshot.

THAT'S NOT EVEN IN THE MOD.

The problem with Half-Life: Before is that it's just too short. FAR too short. As in "I finished the game before I finished my drink" short. As far as I can remember, there is only ONE level change in the entire game, and that level change is only there to trap the player in the (frankly terrible) boss fight. Worse still, barring the aforementioned boss fight, you literally have to do a u-turn and retrace your steps ALL THE WAY TO THE STARTING POINT.

The story of the game is also quite poorly thought out, as little as there is, which makes the whole thing seem like just an extra level that was cut from the original game. Despite the steam page stating that "You're playing as a Black Mesa scientist Andrew Winner.", this is NEVER brought up in-game, and you could just as easily be Lord-High Sherrif Mafia-Don Charlie McFidget Pickle-Eyes VII and it would make NO difference whatsoever. Also, you never have to "enter another world to find an artifact", unless the developers consider "another world" to be the tiny, enclosed cargo deck of a ship.

This feels like a demo - a tech demo, even - for something bigger that was never quite finished. While HL:B has polish, there's a difference between polishing a gigantic statue and polishing a tiny fork.

Here's a simple review for anybody who is unsure about this game:

Good:
-Fluid gameplay and amazingly well-designed atmosphere.
-Wide variety of items and objects within many, many different enviroments, all freely accessable (see next point).
-Detailed background lore and welcome, yet slightly limiting, difficulty progession system.
-Simple yet effective building mechanics.
-Well-made mining/looting/stealing system (based on what you are taking).
-Populated towns and rogue NPC cultists/temple guards/ECT.
-Realistic depictions of planets (moons without oxygen, acid rain, gravity differences, orbiting background planets, ect).

Bad:
-Random difficulty spikes in certain areas/planets.
-No "easy" way to create a multiplayer server.
-Infrequent updates.
-Occasionally generic items (pickaxes, ect).

On The Fence:
-Occasionally conflicting towns with enviroments (happy, healthy villages in desolate wastelands).

Overall, a VERY good game for those with a creative and curious mind, but tiresome for those looking for a story-driven game. YOU make your own story through your actions, and very little is given to you ("you crashed, good luck"), which could be tiresome and irritating for those who prefer to have a deep, interesting story to follow and be enveloped by.

Also, as an obligatory comparison to Terraria:
-Played Terraria for about one hour, got bored and only kept playing due to streaming.
-Played Starbound for fourty hours, still happy to explore and build even on unmodded singleplayer.

People say that this game is bad as of the most recent updates, but as a new player I can honestly say I disagree.

The map-making mode is smooth and runs well no matter what I build, and there is a wealth of prefabs, very few of which are exclusive to the themed sets that can be chosen (mountain base, desert, ect). The easy to use UI made it easy for me to create, as of now, five small maps (which is what I intended to do, I was aiming for small maps) as well as a few unfinished projects.

The classes are your standard FPS-style units, with four of them to choose from. There's the commando, who is the classic, Quake-style class that has the ability to rocket-jump and chew up the map with his minigun. Then there's the marksman, who plays in the same way as a Counter-Strike player with the AWP - hit hard and keep moving. Third is the engineer, formerly the rocketeer, who has the largest pool of available blocks to build with and can reach great hights or avoid death with his jetpack. Finally, there is the miner (my perferred class), who can dig his own tunnels with the super shovel or drill gun, and can breach walls with TNT.

There is no way to comment all the maps, since anything is available to create. The stock maps, however, are vibrant and varied, from London to outer space. Most are too large for small teams, but that is why the map creation mode is there - to tailor the game to your liking.

Even though I got it for £1.99 in the sale, this game has already proved it worth after just over four hours of play time. 8/10.

While playing the first level of Daikatana, I was gradually getting used to the way that different enemies sounded and moved, and was getting hold of my enviroment. I came across a large bridge with a strange structure on the other side, with a few searchlight robots (?) patrolling it. Inching my way across, I found that the structure door seemed to be barricaded by some kind of forcefield or shield. Then I heard the buzzing.

The game did a Nicholas Cage "NOT THE BEES!" and proceeded to send a swarm of bee-like enemies at me, while the bridge self-destructed behind me. The buzzing nearly broke my eardrums and I used up a large portion of my ammunition. Bear in mind that this is roughly five minutes after collecting my first ranged weapon.

I love this game.
