For returning players: Adjusting to some of the new ways to do things [No (d)esignation menu for example] can take a bit of time, but overall it's not a big deal. There's some nice QOL added to the game to make it easier to play / manage. If you liked it before, consider buying it to support a great game and team. If you didn't like it before, you probably still won't lik it. It's Dwarf Fortress afterall.
