This is not a battlefield game

Honestly it's not easy for me to recommend Doom Eternal. It's a good game. It's just not what I expected coming from Doom 4 / 2016 where you had a bunch more ammo and your melee actually hurt the demons.

After you stop dealing with the remorse that you won't have another doom 4 / 2016 you'll begin having fun. The combat loop is interesting and the fights are faster than in 2016 and fun.

They didn't really replace any weapons from the 2016 variant, but I personally think some of the mods from 2016 were more fun to play with.

The only bad part of Doom Eternal is the multiplayer mode, or should I say lack thereof. There's only one multiplayer mode where it's a doom guy vs two demons. A simple addition of a simple death match mode, co-op mode etc. could've fixed this.

This DLC is doom eternal with a bit more of everything. I had to take multiple breaks due to the menacing difficulty which was amazing. After hard areanas shutting down the game to relax was a great feeling, but still wanting to come back for more the next day.

The levels are good, all varied and quite fun to play.

This is not a bad dlc, but it has some major downsides.
The game consists of 4 levels, the last being the final bossfight.
The worst thing about the DLC is the last boss. It made me change my difficulty down to the easiest level from Ultra Violence. Not because he's tough or that I died. After 20 minutes I simply got bored due to his lifesteal at around stage 3. You have to complete 5 stages where the boss changes a little bit. You can only damage him when you falter him, but doing so would require at least 3-5 times of faltering and fast weapon switching between SSG and railgun to kill him per stage. Now the bad part is that whenever he hits you or damages you he heals. So 3-5 times is suddenly 5-15 times per stage unless you avoid all attacks from him.
This is simply bad design. Lifesteal? Sure, but allowing it to go back to the full level is just plain out boring.

The second and third level was very short compared to the first.
The difficulty is also easier than The Ancient Gods part one.

The good however is the addition of hook points for the SSG. It really shows how it can be used for movement that we never did in this manner in Eternal nor the Ancient Gods part one. Movement speed by default is still too slow though.
There's some fun new enemies, but the addition of a new melee hammer made marauders too easy as well.

Better than the sequel aka no ammo game, combat feels faster and more fluent. Less Bethesda. Denuvu is removed.

Is best game of year

The player base could use more players, especially for non pro players, but it's not NS2's fault that the market is flooded with multiplayer games.
