Early Access Review
Solid gameplay loop. Love the lore, music and graphic design.
A bit rough around the edges but that's understandable as the game is still in early access and updates are frequent and substantial. It's still an 8/10 in its current state.
One thing I wish the devs focused a bit more on is difficulty gating and tooltips/explanations. I wish at least in the early game there was more of a progression to tougher areas until the whole solar system opens up to you (could be a great way to add a few more story missions with more focused lore exposition and introduction to the history and factions of the world). As it stands right now after the tutorial and an intro mission, you immeadetly get a story mission on Venus. But you should stay on Mars for quite a while until you learn the basics and build up some stock of supplies (no quasimorphs so the game is easier).
I have a few more gripes about difficulty in finding information about the resistances of enemies (based on faction), what type of damage some weapons do (the purple orb ammo does poison damage in the quasimorph rifle, but shock damage in the AnCom Unveiled rifle), and better explanations about what ship upgrades do (there's a ship upgrade about perks and I thought it was about adding extra perks to classes; instead it just allows you to swap out even more of a class's perks - class upgrades are lackluster in general to be honest).

Early Access Review
EDIT: 60 more hours later and yeah, this game's pretty good. Playing at higher difficulty doesn't break the balance but provides a new challenging experience. Not so hard that you need to break out excel but something you can figure out on your own after a few restarts. Some systems are significantly underexplained in-game however (especially how marketplace supply works), but asking a couple of questions on the game's discord can really help.

To begin with, I've put more than 30hrs into the game at review time despite what shows up on Steam. I gave the game the good 'ol ☠️ unlimited trial version.

So about the game. As the dev says when you boot it up, it's still very much in development. It's not an alpha build, but a very early beta. A lot of features are work in progress and small and medium bugs can be found all over the place.

That said however, what is here is already a solid 8.5/10 game. It combines the production chains and town upgrade mechanics of Anno with the real time strategy of Total War mixed with Kingdom Come Deliverance aesthetics. I'm completely in love. The worker management at the family level is excellent, the fluid and organic way you can build your villages is gorgeous and the graphics look fantastic.

Playing this game I didn't get a feeling of a ton of ideas hitting the wall and seeing what sticks, even if a ton of it is still work in progress or buggy. A feeling many early access games have. Instead the game looks well thought out and it just needs time to be fully developed and polished. And you can see more than a few signs of great and neat game design that show that the dev has really put a lot of thought into this, such as the ability to change video/audio/etc settings from a pop up menu while playing without having to hit Esc and go into the pause menu. I really appreciate little details like that.

One last thing before concluding is about how much there is, or rather isn't, to do, something mentioned by a plurality of reviewers. I din't get that feeling at all. After 30hrs spent on one save file I don't feel I'm even halfway to the end of a single campaign. Maybe that's because I'm playing the baron scenario which increases the difficulty a bit. I do see replayability and different strategies being a bit of an issue, but at least for a single campaign there's a ton to do.

The overall feeling is that this game takes design cues from a lot of other games but improves upon them significantly instead of merely copying and re-skinning them. I'm really looking forward to see where it goes. Excellent work Greg!

Wanted to write a longer review but too bored
The game's pretty good, it's got the core of the nfs gameplay loop down right, the cop chases are excellent, with a great way to entice greater rewards for higher risk at night (the longer you have been chased by the cops in one night, the higher the multiplier of your final score for the night).
Some annoying EA ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as usual, but nothing that breaks the experience.
Special mention to the campaign cutscenes. Cheesy dialogue as par for the course, but the animations are surprisingly good for something so seemingly minor in a racing game. Looks like they used mocap. The actors are really hemming it up too and it ends up being campy in a funny way.
For the tree fiddy I paid for it's a complete steal

Needs a little more UI refinement and a bit of smoothing around the edges, but an excellent game nonetheless.

A definite recommend from me.

I'm an honest pirate. When I really enjoy a game and I have the money I buy it.
I more than enjoyed this game, I loved it. And I'm not really into point & click RPG games.
But the story, theme, art, atmosphere, soundtrack, political commentary and especially voice acting were really top notch.
It's a bit unpolished in a few spots, but nothing that took me out of the game, the immersion. And honestly understandable for a small studio.
As I said I've completed the game, the hours played are just since I purchased it.

Lord Mandalore recommended this game and I was definitely not disappointed! Awesome gameplay, soundtrack, and atmosphere. The lore is pretty interesting and got a chuckle out of more than once. A game made with soul.

Awesome game, really a league of its own. Be warned it does have some issues running on modern systems however.
