4/5. Damn, this game is good.

Seriously, it's amazing. The only reason it's not a 5/5 is because I have small nitpicks with it, such as certain quests and mechanics, like how certain enemies can just chain attacks and instant down you, but aside from that, this game is seriously good.

From a gameplay perspective, it's great. Combat is great, abilities such as Launch are super fun to use, different constructs / mods allow for different builds to play around with. My favorite gameplay section was definitely the Ashtray Maze, which features the glorious return of Remedy's famed musical missions. My only complaint is that I wish it synced better and it lasted longer, because clearing enemies while listening to Old Gods of Asgard's "Take Control" is one of the greatest things you can do in this game.

Graphics are pretty great, and that's a good thing, cause the Oldest House can be amazingly beautiful in certain scenes.

Story's great, and while the facial animations leave some stuff to be desired, the voice work is amazing. Few lines in this game feel flat. Nothing is forced. The excitement in Pope's voice as she talks to Jesse about her findings, how frustrated Arish gets when trying to map out a battle plan against the Hiss forces, and even the awkwardness in Langston's lines all feel natural. One of my favorite lore bits was probably the Hotline messages, from listening to Trench slowly losing his way to the Board trying to communicate their agenda to you. Worldbuilding was perfectly done imo, with every report you pick up fleshing out the world that Alan Wake had introduced us to all those years ago.

If you can, buy this game. It's fun, it's interesting, and it has Ahti the Janitor. Do you really need any other reason than that last one?
