A year late to the party, but I can happily say that there are still active servers with active players. There are some NEWBIESPLAYGROUND servers that are pretty often populated, and the Jackals Coop one sometimes has as many as 16 players. They're hosted by the -(DOG)- clan, and everyone in that clan seems to be pretty nice.
