Welcome Back UIC DOTERs

Hello UIC DOTERS!!

I hope your semester started well enough, so let's get down to business right away this semester if we wanna be successful and actually have fun before the midterms, or finals, or whatnot come! We only gonna have about 2 General Body Meetings this semester, so it's crucial that you guys actually come to those, because there might not be any other time that I see you guys in person. The first and introductory meeting is going to be this Friday(tomorrow) September 2nd from 6 pm to 7 pm in the Illinois Room at SCE. I will try and bring my computer with all the hardware to the meeting so we can set something like a DOTA 2 table there, so I hope i see most of you there tomorrow, so that all of my efforts are not in vain(it really is a pain in the ass to get my whole setup over there). Also bring your own gear to the meeting, we might even be able to run a few mini games, if I somehow get an Ethernet cable connection to my desktop. But if not, we can always just show the game to other people(UI/BOTs), and get more people into the DOTA 2 community here at UIC.

So, I hope to see you all there tomorrow!!!

Roster Decisions and Practice Times

Happy Monday Everybody!! (hopefully it is for you)

Thanks to everybody who to decided to spend most of their weekend on trying out for the UIC Dota 2 Team. I really appreciated that!

Tini (your coach) and I decided that in this particular situation that we are in right now, it would be best to have only 1 team, because our 10th player would probably not have enough time to practice regularly with the team every day from now on. We also decided that we will just follow the format of the AVGL tourney for now, and keep all 9 players on the team. The possibility of us getting 2 teams together later on is way higher than me just letting other 4 people go.

So, here are the people who made it, and people who are going to be subs for now.

UIC DOTA 2 TEAM ROSTER:
Position 1: Punk
Position 2: BmT.Typhon
Position 3: 773.Jimmy Choo

Position 5: Dertrom

UIC DOTA 2 TEAM SUBSTITUTES:

People who are SUBS!!! I definitely can't force anybody to do anything here, and if you think you are better than just a sub on some UIC Dota 2 team, I will understand that, but I would really like to see you maybe not at every practice, but at least at every other practice, so that we could keep setting up lobbies in the future and gain more experience that way. ### If Tini or I see a visible improvement in your subs' game play, we will definitely switch you with the other player in your respective position on the main roster. So, roster players, remember that!!! And then also, whenever our roster players can't make it to the game, we want to be 100% confident in your subs' level of play.

In order to avoid confusion, I decided to set up a doodle poll, so that everybody could highlight when are they free to practice for this week, please follow this link and fill it out, doesn't take much time whatsoever, you too subs.

And for those who didn't tryout or didn't finish trying out, please don't do anything with the link, in order to avoid the chaos. smile emoticon We will probably not have any set time for today (Monday 25th), because not everybody is going to be able to get to Doodle Poll site on time, but starting tomorrow (Tuesday 26th), we will have our first practice with a set time. So, I strongly encourage everybody to fill it out by the end of the day today, so that we have a schedule set up for this week.

Psss, if you want to play Dota 2 today, a bunch of people are going to be up, just go online and play, it doesn't need to be 'practice time' to practice your skills.
