When this isn't going on If you want to find a PUG of 6s you can use this web thingy my buddy cinq setup that links to all the tf2 IRC PUG channels.

The 2 main channels are #tf2.pug.na and #tf2mix. I suggest playing in the #tf2mix channel as you will always be able to play atleast once every 2 PUGs. The #tf2.pug.na channel is what most of the higher skilled comp TF2 players use and you will typically only get picked if you are a known comp player or play medic.
