No, please don't change the map. Nomad Island should stay the same despite wipes IMHO.

Ive kinda grown fond of it too mate. I thin post wipe we'll be a tad different, as it was after last wipe. But i think it will have the same familiarity

That's 3 to one so far and I been talking with Alan and Rob and I think they see a benefit in a new island to explore for us all, plus it will put every player new and old on a level playing field, not knowing the island.

I'm liking the idea of a change now too, so i vote yes.

So that makes it 6 to one in favour so far.

I just seen NiggalasCage's post in the overview and he's in favour of a change too, so that makes it 7 to 1 in favour.

Yeah like Q said, I'm in favour of change guys. Maybe take note of the maps seed? That way if someone's enjoyed it they can record the seed but in honesty I like the not knowing aspect of the exploration of a new map.

Like I pointed out earlier it makes it a rather level playing field aswell because everyone's on a level playing field! So it doesn't favour previous players & at the same time provides a new experience to old plays to prevent the game getting stale for them.

While this has been the first time I've really played Rust & this'll be my first wipe. I believe the rad towns or monuments (whatever you want to call them) will be around still, just in different locations so anyone particularly fond of the groaning sphere of doom aka the dome aka the golf ball. It'll just be in a different location next time, or possibly be a different monument all together (who knows)

Change maybe scary but honestly I think it'll help breathe new life into the server so give change a chance I say!

Yup the dome would still be in, im sute ibe seen two on one map in the past.

Ive seen lighthouses and islands that are split up by a thin sliver of land, which presents its own challenges.

So yup, looks like we'll be having a new seed.

Ok, I have set the seed to a random one, which ended up being (for the record) 117750

That means once the update is done by Multiplay, it should kick in on server restart !

How do you know if the update has been done ?

Step 1: Login and spawn
Step 2: Look down

If you can see your balls swinging in the wind, you've either been raided or the wipe has completed :)
