It is a good feeling, but it may not end up paying well enough to recover all your time and expenses just to compete. At the risk of sounding old- honestly if you apply the same amount of time, energy, and resources required to make it to MLG towards getting education then you'll likely find much more success and higher income. It's just economics- weighing the marginal benefit over the marginal cost.Like I said, I never really made it to the true, "MLG scene," but I was pretty competitive for years and consider myself good enough to have made it- had the circumstances been more favorable. If I had more time and better teammates I'd have been at MLG Dallas and certainly capable of competing with those guys. I used to play against some of those pros, including members from Str8 Rippin and StK, so I know I had what it took from the competitive aspect. But like I told you before it's not all about you- you need to find at least three other guys (or gals) who are at least as good, but hopefully even better than yourself. Those teammates also have to be super dedicated- sometimes people will tell you they're all in but then excuses start to set in... And when you lose your team you're back to square one. It's worse if you put in hours of training then you lose just one player who backs out of a tournament at the last minute (It does happen). You may get teammates who aren't fully socially functional- Seriously, they may get so bent out of shape over a few loses that they quit instead of working with the team to become better... Perhaps they think they're too good for your team and in some instances maybe they really are- but that should be decided when you first come together. Unfortunately for you, you may end up getting a teammate that jumps ship at the last minute after playing with them for a long time and then you'll have to fill that void again on your team.Well, hopefully this advice helps you in some way. Unfortunately nobody is going to be able to scoop you up and toss you into MLG status. You may be able to join a MLG clan but that doesn't guarantee that you'll ever be able to get a true core of 3 other players that will make it to MLG status with you.Good luck and God speed.
