And rarely do corposlop reviewers have anything below current specs so they often don't notice the problem with Denuvo at all.

Denuvo is ostensibly an anti-tamper wrapper to protect whatever actual copyright protection scheme a dev/pub is using. It's usually the combination of the two that results in lower system specs being raised above what the publisher's in-house QA will provide for the box - because they do not fully QA with the copyright protection and anti-tamper enabled. In most cases those are either given a quick pass (smoke test) or as an afterthought and lazily addressed with a Day 0 patch once the reviewers notice the problems.

It really just serves as another BS reason to carelessly push system specs upwards with bloat from all layers. It's mostly to protect AAA shovelware that land poorly for a later fully-patched $20 bargain bin sale.
