Good post for those who don't know about this, I personally use it with one of the many add-on I use. I don't like to block many people but only the truely ones that deserve it (scammers, cheaters and the like don't make it on my list and have about 55 people on it so you can guess how much it takes for me to add someone as a blocked user.)

I like to use the nickname feature more as I have assigned tags like scammer, troll, shill and the like to those on the forums among others.

Sure it's that way will a lot of things. But you should not have something just because some people try (and do) to game the system, all you can do is try to have protections in place the best you can without them being too much, hope that people have common sense and to ask questions before going forth and blindly believing people at their word.

I just think most if not all just can't spell correctly. Because I've been in quite a few voice chats with some and they are foreign and can't even talk English correctly.

Youtubers are making this more than what it actually is. Sure it will hurt some like kid content because people can't be parents and do their jobs themselves, but for the majority of users they can set their channels to non kid content and move on with life.

I don't do much but yes those that are helpful, follow the rules, report posts, ect do deserve a big thanks for keeping the community a fun and clean-ish place to be.

I'm not one for calling out people personally but misinformation does need to be squashed.

As for misinformation, I think this one currently needs to be nipped in the bud before people think it's real and start spam posting to get their account name changed since it is impossible to do so on Steam due to how it was built and the code would have to be reworked from the bottom up for this to happen and way back a ValvE employee mentioned this a bit and how it's not feasible. And now how they kept adding more and more features, changing others, ect to the platform it's safe to say that it won't happen as it's become even more complex.

Sadly I did not hear about what happened (Looking it up now, as I don't keep up with most world events) but glad Valve has taken action on this type of thing.

Edit: Just read up on it a bit and that's horrible that people are saying that this person(s) are a saint or hero... Glad Valve is taken these types of profile down.

Pretty smart capitalist, hopefully Valve can do something about it, probably sue/take them to court to scare them into never doing it again.

I like the new bolder boxes around Steam not just on the forums.

Yup just like a user that baits, and puts out false claims on mod profiles right now to start drama. So I moved on.

Sadly I had to block him since he can't or doesn't seem to want to understand how things work and I'm not interested in it. (I would have like to not add him to the block list as it only has 23 people on it but sometimes we have to do stuff we don't like to move on).
