Has it really even died down? I have seen this continuously happen throughout the years with Steam chats, Steam forums posts in various areas regarding Discord, and even some other chat programs that are old, etc

The scripts hardly change because they work. You might see different words or even an old method being replaced back in every 3-5 years.

I'm 50/50 on it, there are definitely those that are stupid and I think it can be applied to people especially when it's a scam, or whatever it is that happened to you when it's old and there is a vast amount of information on it where you can find an answer in a few easy searches.

On the other hand, where it can be something like stealing cookies or a session to get your account information is a bit different and there are many ways even newer ways that even security experts have never seen or heard of before (there have been I've seen just recently that I was like "damn, that was nice" and would have never thought of doing it that way.)

Google/Youtube has really dropped the ball on their security and support in dealing with these vulnerabilities on their platform, especially when it comes to F2A where it's being bypassed easily. They need to add another layer of security to lock or make it harder to change any type of account information so these people find it not as profitable to take accounts, and if they don't do that have some support or bot search for the live streams that basically "all" have their videos hidden or deleted and have the same garbage crypto scams and locked comments and live chat.

It's happening all over Steam, with artworks, screenshots, comments, etc.

I'm not surprised either. I personally have not been to the main Steam forums in a while now (maybe since last year sometime, but make a few posts here and there in it since globals are no more).

It's amazing that they'd give up the most dedicated people that worked for FREE to clean up junk and help around the main Steam forums and even game hub forums.

I skipped most upgraded and new OSs because they suck. I still have my Win7 and I have a Win10 sitting on the floor unused in case I need it. Win11 is just looking bad. I have tested a bit and seen stuff on it.

Yup, that's why I delete the game folder after I uninstalled the game. Plus no need to keep stuff that you already deleted since most stuff is saved via cloud and other games have hard back up save files you can save.

Yes, that is one of the various ways they go about it, good to see community banned and marked as scammer on SteamREP.

I only have seen it ramp up since last summer good to know it was at least since late last year.

Yeah, that's been going around for some good months, they just leave that vague comment in hopes you'll add these people since spam adding people was killed off (it's like 30 a week or so).

I don't think I much like this. I have a guide that gets regular updates to it. I hope it does not take that long.

I doubt it's a RIP for Steam, I have not even seen many of them doing much if anything except for a few of them, it's sad to see the ones I knew of leave but do you have a source to back up the claim that they were "forced" to leave or did they step down because their own issues like others did before.
