Also I once got tempbanned for advertising, for this one time I reposted the then-blanked (by OP) contents of a thread's opening post, which was basically some semi-embarrassing request for upvotes on facebook, and which OP 'emself had blanked from said opening post after receiving a backlash from commenters.

I wasn't advertising, so much as (1) providing context and (2) doing a sort of "you can't pretend you didn't just post that" thing. But oh well.

Are they hidden completely as if they didn't exist, or are they just hidden in such a way that there's a line saying there's a hidden post that you can click to view?

I went ahead and reported that profile, as well as another one, which came up in a Google search. Aside from "playing" (for 0.3 hours) Dota 2 in 2017, the pattern seems similar -- long-unused account.

Recently got a friend request from https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/profiles/76561198027175440 .

Considering that its most recently played game was last played in 2014, this looks like an old account that was dug up and hijacked.

Trying to add them to my library gives the following error though.

Sorry, an error has occurred:
This item cannot be added to your library because it is restricted from your country.

So, just because you've received a game doesn't mean it'll work.

A friend bought me a couple games yesterday. She paid the USD store price for them, in USD, and they show up just fine as gifts. Yet when I try to redeem the games to my library, Steam says that the item is "restricted from my country". I'm in the U.S. myself; she's in Venezuela.

So the "within 10% price difference" rule isn't even reliable.

My only criticism of this is that turning this on by default hides public display of game inventories, causing SteamSpy to be useless.

This may have been intentional, though.

Tangent:

I've been wondering why VAC ban threads/forum exist in the first place.

Because 99% of it is either "I was wrongly banned, I didn't cheat" or "you deserved your ban, good riddance".

What kind of content do you think you'll include?

To what extent will this avoid being a duplicate of existing guides?
