At some point Valve added the code to "heart out" not just the word but also the two characters on either side of it. That's what's breaking the formatting

You can report it as possible fraud I think.

There's a bunch of Quints on Steam but none with exactly my current username I think?

It probably helps that I change it periodically.

(Almost) all my reports of shady links in display names have the form "advertising scammygamblingsite.com in username".

Well, in a few days, at least. This is according to an announcement in the Steamworks group.

Seems like devs can opt out of this, but by default, this might help clean up some really crud-filled game forums. This is beyond just dealing with reports from other parts of game hubs (e.g. screenshots).

Valve claims they've also been expanding the global modteam. They also say they'll try to keep a light hand with moderating hubs so that devs have first dibs at deciding how to manage things. But they also say that a lot of devs have asked them for more moderating help, which motivated this change.

So yeah, I'm glad this is happening.

Maybe the dream of playing all those really old Windows-only games on Linux might be becoming a reality?

Maybe one day I can finally keep my gaming hobby but discard Windows?

This, if true, is something I wasn't aware of.

FYI Valve staff deal with profile reports while forum mods deal with forum reports, so they're two different groups of people.
