This is the first time I'm hearing about that ... I didn't think you would still receive item drops. I've been under the impression that if you had a VAC ban for a certain game, you couldn't trade or sell items such as skins. I figured the item drops would just be included in that.

That's interesting ... Valve didn't change the rule a bit, did they?

Good thing that user is community banned now. That's a lot of effort just to scam people. SteamRep is great ;D.

For some reason one of the usernames looks familiar to me ... or maybe it's just the crown icons in the name. Seen those a lot.

I don't like to think that some people fall for this stuff so easily, but ... I guess that's unrealistic. Most of these scam attempts are just so obvious.

Another good thing about the powerful Vampiric entity guarding the realms of the dark side (VAC forum) is that those "get rekt" users posting that unproductive nonsense are dealt with if they really become a problem. I am glad to see that.

And interestingly enough, those posts are misinformation, as sorts. Because as we know, not every user that has a VAC banned account is an actual cheater. It's hard to get the right information passed on sometimes, as you can be quickly attacked and labeled a defender of cheaters because of people's short-sightedness.

But that is how it is when one tries to be the light-bringer and simply try to tell the facts. Sometimes they are the ones persecuted against more than the cheaters themselves. Thanks for reading.

If a thread is not moving in a productive direction and the OP has already been given all of the relevant information then there isn't much more to add. Engage misinformation if you see it. Avoid engaging in flame wars or trying to battle stupidity.

The Giving One is a good example of how to post there, probably the best example. I've learned more than a few things from him myself.

Personally, I usually take more of a blunt/curt approach but you should always try to keep your posts constructive. If you have run out of constructive things to add then that's probably a good exit cue.

I haven't gotten a warning or anything, but I don't want to take my comments too far, if that makes sense. I try to take a quick break if I feel like a thread is going nowhere, or if the comments are actually irritating me.

I'd love to know what some others think about it.
