I just got a new computer with Windows 11. It reminded me of why I went to Linux ages ago. Someone recommended it already, but I use LibreOffice. It's just like Office (and it's free). Good luck.

Was my post off-topic? Yes, it was. So I suppose you could call it "fair" in that respect...if it was being applied to all posts and threads in the Steam forums. However, if you're not familiar with the Dota 2 forums, "off-topic" describes a rather large portion of the posts and threads on that forum.

And, having a Nazi avatar seems to me like it violates at least one of those darn ole' Steam forum rules & guidelines, gosh golly. So to ban me for being off-topic by pointing out another poster having a Nazi avatar you would have to be fully aware that poster had a Nazi avatar and then ignore it.

I've skimmed through the forum before; I got curious after a few people kept talking about it. The posts I saw then seemed off-topic to me at least, but I assumed the folks over there were slightly more lenient (guess that changed?).

I still see a lot of off-topic stuff in the majority of the forums. I'm not too sure why one or even a handful of people would be banned for commenting like that, but then nothing is done about the person actually going against the guidelines. That was always a bit of a pet peeve of mine.

I reported the profile yesterday. (or this morning, depending on your timezone) The mod had time to ban me for the post calling out the poster for having a Nazi general as an avatar so was very obviously aware of it but didn't seem to have time to take any moderative action on the user.

Agree with the above about reporting the kid's profile. I'm actually a little surprised you were instant-banned like that since I've never seen an issue with your comments on any forum, but at least it's only three days. *Hopefully* some sort of action will eventually be taken against the blatantly offensive types.

Considering most people don't look/read the rules and pinned threads I doubt they'd give that thread a look, but yes it's a good thread.

Oh, I'm sure you're right. Never fails to surprise me that people who "want answers" don't bother investigating what they're given.

So, I lowered my expectations significantly.

I took a look at the VAC discussions for curiosity's sake. Naturally, it's the same old stuff: "VAC banned for nothing?" "Ban for no reason," etc. I've given up at this point. People just don't want to read the pinned threads/provided information. Of course, it's good to know people are still being held accountable as they should be.

Agree with the above. Kind of sounds like hijacking/phishing or whatever. I see people are still clicking shady links (which is to be expected by now, obviously) so that should do it.
