I just saw this post in the Linux forum concerning Valve and VAC bans. It doesn't make much sense to me and I highly doubt an account would receive a VAC ban based on a username alone, but I was wondering if anyone had thoughts.

(Basically, the OP was under the impression that Linux users will receive VAC bans based on the usernames they choose).

There's a link to something on GitHub about it, which was provided. I'm curious as to why some users would pick the username they did in the first place. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding something?

They're not talking about a single review. It's referring to people who might for example upvote or downvote every good or bad review on a store page. Consecutive up or downvotes in this manner will have lesser weight.

I was unaware of this, so thanks for posting. I've only ever up (or down) voted a review once, regardless of how helpful or absurd it was. I remember one game I played in particular had unusually positive reviews that I suspect had been voted on multiple times, while the negative ones (including mine) were down-voted, no matter how constructive they were.

Edit (for clarity): The game in question I was referencing had multiple good reviews that were upvoted multiple times, and some bad reviews that were downvoted multiple times.
