There appears to be a backlash against using mods on public servers, and getting to heart of it is everyone wants to publish their ship on workshop. Also having no extra blocks also means that no mod can fail and remove blocks. Also keen will be adding MUCH more blocks in DLC's in the next two years. After two years I Keen then advancing to SE2 (say after SE1 turns 10 years old). I will set the server to allow saves, and will clean and post the server on to the workshop, and post some of the biggest ship (if they are not workshop items) to the workshop also.

I want to add new planets, but they add hundreds of MG tot he download. The current download is 2GB, the current one is almost half a GB. But I want to add one or two extra planets. Normal Pertam and One with water (water world). And maybe a planet sized moon as a water world (triton?). Each Planet will get TWO moons (on opposite sides of each planet). Planets/moon will be arrange to avoid eclipses. Thinking about a "black nebula" void with a hellish planet in the middle. I'm currently playtesting mods to keep the blocks as vanilla as possible.

After four years, and 2500+ users connecting, I think it's time to reset the server, due to user corruption I have been unable to fix, and due to the new meta coming with warfare 2 update. Also due to live changes I have less time to maintain the server, so I would like re-balance the mod to just use vanilla blocks, but put in has many quality of life mods to bring the game up to 2022 standards. So the mods will try to add extra functionality to existing blocks (like food, sleep), visual improvements, and environment (nebulas, water).

Progress for smoke test all passes except tiered thrusters (which just exploded). Picked a provider ViLayer (same we had before cheap and lots of cpu). I’ll tweak the planets so central can be built at center. I’m worried about the down load size. Last time it was 60mb. I think it’s going to be over 259mb this time. 98mb is just the skybox.

I’ve started smoke testing on mods for a new sever. I Decided it will have planets. I’ll update the mod list as it gets stable. I might still have to include mods that are abandonware but still working. The old concrete blocks mod has bigs so testing a new one. The old air tight mod crashes. Need to make sure the optimized blocks are air tight. The only must have mod is ‘space got real’ because of the realistic light effects.
