The body of each Space Marine has undergone extensive anatomical changes. Their minds are also very different from those of other people. These differences are so clear and comprehensive that Space Marines are actually a kind of sub-species to humans.

Space Marines are visually distinguishable from normal humans, even at first sight, due to their sheer mass and slightly "horse-like" face shapes.
