Installing NEOTOKYO° / Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

Steam auth issues on Linux (Wine/Proton/etc)
– See this thread for possible solutions.

NEOTOKYO° doesn't appear in Steam Library
– Restart Steam.

Error verifying SteamID / Client failed to authorize
– Close Steam
– Remove ClientRegistry.blob from Steam directory
– Restart Steam

NT doesn't close after quitting
Make sure you don't have a stray hl2.exe or rundll32.exe still running in the background.

Any of the following errors:
- Steam validation rejected
- Disconnect without error
- SteamGetEncryptedUserIDTicket failed (1)
- Engine Error - Platform Error: bad module 'serverbrowser.dll', not loading
- All textures are broken
- Disconnect: server uses different class tables

– You are probably using outdated Neotokyo. See "installing".

or in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
delete ClientRegistry.blob

NT won't launch ;_;
I click play and the "preparing to launch" window appears. The windows disappears, the box around my avatar goes green, then the box returns to blue, the NEOTOKYO entry on my games list syncs breifly then everything is as if I hadn't launched NT.
I've verified cache and reinstalled but nothing changed. It stopped working when I installed Alliance Of Valiant Arms (Shit game, don't get it) then got the error "Steam_api_init failed"

Edit: I kept the task manager open and looked at the processes and no HL2.exe or any other process starts when I click play

Hi, my game won't play beyond few seconds. Enough time to join a server, but hl2.exe crashes everytime. Running error R6025- pure virtual function call. Tried loking it up. Seems like a half life bug. Can't fix. Any help? Much appreciated

Try setting texture quality to medium. If that doesn't help, try restarting your computer and join a server again.

nt_pagoda isn't an official map, so it's not included in the install. If you get that message when joining a game, the server has failed to serve you their custom map file.
