Would it be possible for YouTube to make a good YouTube RED show?

YouTube would be much better if people paid for it, honestly. That would pressure content creators to actually make good content or else they'll lose the money (paid subscribers). I'm also tired of the counter-argument 'he owes you nothing' when I critisize a youtuber acting like a crybaby in front of a camera.

Generally YouTube content is so bad that I doubt many people would pay for it, as it is. With the paid subscription feature, there would probably be a huge boost in quality of the videos. That's what I'd really like to happen.

I think there's decent stuff already there, and they don't need money or the backing of larger production companies to produce content. YouTube's strength is that it's a very democratic platform, one guy like Totalbiscuit could compete for views with giants like IGN, and that one day TB will be replaced by someone else with just a mic and a gaming PC.

We don't know the full details of Youtube Red yet, once it's fully rolled out, would a content creator require invitation from YouTube themselves to host content behind the paywall, or could anyone do it? The former is quality control, but also means YouTube loses what made it great in the first place (it's democratic nature). The latter means both paid and unpaid accounts will have no difference in quality. I'm not crazy about either possibility.
I didn't mean that they need backing of large production companies. What I meant, is that viewers get to actually decide whether the person gets the money or not for his YouTube videos. That is a system I'd love. Whatever the way of doing this is, I'll probably support it.

This would pressure creators to try their real best at viewer satisfaction, rather than clickbait titles and unfunny penis jokes. Because I've noticed that "free" actually has its price. Most videos on YouTube are complete waste of time and have no creative process behind them whatsoever.

Also, the new 'ad-friendly' policy, which YouTube has no control over; advertises can always choose what type of videos they want to advertise their products in. YouTuber loses 5% of his ad revenue due to this, he blames Google and makes crybaby videos how YouTube is killing him; talking about dudes with millions and millions of views, surely can live life normally with that -5%.

Just goes to show how disrespectful youtubers are. And most of them cry how their job is hard even though rarely youtubers have any creative process behind their content.

It's good that YouTube is free, if the quality is what it is at the moment.
