From what I understand basically server owners now have to tie their server to their steam accounts. And said steam account has to be in good standing in every way. I don't think it's much to ask really. A server account not being f2p makes sense at the very least, phone authentication required to host a server doesn't sound mildly unreasonable in my opinion. I guess the worst thing here is the "community" ban.


Does that only apply to the tf2 community forums, or all steam forums in general? Because the later is stupid and basically means the server owner can't post anywhere in fear of an unfair ban.

So Evo, this sounds pirating sites 101. Often they have ads that look like the video player but instead bring up pop-ups to try to trick you into downloading something. If you closed it off you should be good, but if you want you could download something easy like malwarebytes and run a scan on your computer. Who knows, you might have caught something using shady sites like that unintentionally.

Or you could wait till the orange box is on sale and get the proof of purchase hat for tf2 even though it sucks.

Just finished episode 1 yesterday. I'm still not super desiring episode 2 and I can't see myself longing for half life 3 afterwards although they are good games. All them are too short in my opinion.

It's as Evo said. For a long time Call of Duty fans have been asking for them to go back to their roots, but then they put out the abyssmal failures that were CoD: Ghosts and Advanced Warfare(not failures in sales but all of the CoD fans I know hate the multiplayer and the god awful story/setting in those ones). Black Ops 3 was/is liked by the fans, but people are kinda sick and tired of seeing jetpacks, robots, futuristic settings.


Then Battlefield 1 releases, and that kind of set off a trigger or something I guess. That their often referred to as a rival is catering more towards their fans than Activision is. They've called it that because the original Battlefield was called just that, no 1 in there or anything. It helps people understand that they're going back to original idea and theme, catering to the nostalgia.

Shields all got nerfs in general except maybe the splendid screen, which one could argue was a a trade off.


Now you can only crit at the end of a charge except for the tide turner which is mini-crits now. Also weapons that were on the edge of being op got a slight nerf like Air Strike has lower blast radius while rocket jumped, Beggar's Bazooka got a lesser blast radius, and Loose cannon no longer knocks you half way across the map.
