Have you checked your notification settings? I know that an issue exists with chat notifications, something I contacted Steam Support about some time ago (no fix planned as I was told at the time).

If you get no luck in your settings, try marking all as read.

steam notifications have been buggy for a decade. valve is treating it like lost tech from the dark ages that they have no idea how to service.

i know that doesn't fix your issue, but maybe it helps to know that it's not just you. the entire notification system has been so buggy for the past decade that it working properly is literally the exception (as a rule, it doesn't work).

It was fine before the forced UI upgrades for me..

Same issue here. I have 109 new comments but none unread and there isn't any threads I can see. I'm guessing I unsubbed from one but it thinks I am still subbed. No chance I go through each one.

getting this issue aswell on Win7 steam aka locked version, 50 comments and forcefully makes places the comment notifications to the first time i opened said notification

this is not a new version specific bug and is a actual bug with the notifications themselves on (basically)all versions
quite annoying tbh

i was betting that and i said it was not SPECIFIC to the new version, and is in fact on older platforms aswell(windows 7 is locked to a pre-UI change)

Yeah its been broken as hell since the forced ui changes.. I wish we could just roll back to the version that worked, the forums have been a mess ever since..

..almost, i can't play my games anymore due to the download algorithm changing

Not really any choice if you need to ask anything you are forced on to steams forums.

Thankfully when I signed in earlier, my comment notification were at zero.

*edit. Just got 12 ghost comments so this issue has not resolved.
