Do not buy this game if you are planing on playing it with friends.

Co-op was a clear after thought and sloppily put together. I kid you not, in order to play co-op you have to join their live stream. The quality is very bad because of it, it lies in between 480p and 720p. The performance also isn't good, lots of stutter and fps drops.

It is hard to see who is who, as you share the same character model, with the only difference being a color swap on one piece of clothing. No colored diamonds or arrow or even your name above you. There is no outline of object fading when you go behind them, adding to the frustration of trying to even figure out who you are.

You share the same backpack inventory, you both pause the game when opening the menu or inventory. They also had the genius idea of making it so that both can control the menus at the same time, regardless of who opens it.

This game is one of those where you can separate from each other, so you have to stick close to each other.
It is also far to zoomed in with no option of changing it.

If those issues doesn't bother you than these last two might. For what ever reason there is no game audio for player two, only the main theme plays on loop. So have fun hearing it or too play in silence the entire time. And the last thing, the player to is forced to play with a controller, so if non of you have one, you can't even play it.

Honestly, what was even the point of adding multiplayer, if you don't know how to do it ? It feels like a terrible fan made multiplayer mod to a single player game.

Again do not buy this game if you plan on playing it with friends.

I absolutely loved Dysmantle! It’s a perfect game for those who enjoy grinding and looting, with a satisfying gameplay loop that keeps you hooked. I’m waiting for new DLCs (hope there will be some) and an online co-op feature to make it even better. It’s especially cool knowing the game is Finnish - I even had the chance to meet one of the developers here in Finland!

I did everything there was to do in the base game on PS5. I bought it again with all the DLC on Steam because I enjoyed it so much, and wanted to experience the game again with all the updates and DLC.
