The battle system is bad. Also, the outfit of the main love interest of the protagonist character is ridiculous.

This game is designed like hot garbage. The gameplay is slow, the game balance is ten times harder than any other version I've played, the battles are cheap, the amount of gil you earn per battle is literally about 1/10th what's earned in other versions. Enemies in the Tower of Zot are regularly wiping my entire party in 1-2 attacks with no opportunity to defend, and I'm either on level, or over-leveled. Beneficial status effects like Shell and Protect do NOTHING to help this, and you're made painfully poor due to the lack of gil earning.

This game is frustrating, slow, the menus are sloppily designed and do not port well from the 3DS version. Square, you should feel ashamed at this iteration.

This game has aged gracefully even with the cheap monsters you can use items to help you get by them just make sure you have enough. The story still resonates with me 34 years later.
