Can this game be beaten?
I've gotten a few levels in, but each time I play, I have to start over from the start. Is there a way to warp to other stages or beat the game like Children of Morta?

You restart every time you die, However you still keep your EXP and talents for each character to start each runs with a small bonus. Keep collecting gold to unlock more soldiers. With the last one El Casador, the game is easier.
Aw, that sucks. I can make it so beating the game once is the end for me, but that's not really how it's designed.

Is El Casador the sniper? If so, how does he make it easier?
I managed to finish the game first with El Casador the sniper at level 10 (out of 60 levels for the max).
Just keep your distance at all time (more reaction time to escape bullets) and take your time.
pick up mainly + range, + max HP and more Invulnerabilty time % items to survive longer. Max damage + is also a good bet.
His natural double jump give more escape opportunity and alternative routes.
His main weapon does massive damage for the bosses.
His unique skill is meh, but good to destroy large groups of small mobs in a straight line.
Remember to dash/rush to get some frame of invulnerabilty, especially in boss fights.
As for secondary weapons, choose between the shield generator (few seconds of invulnerability) or drones (to make quick work of mob gangs). You have infinite secondary weapon usage (minus cooldown) and the weapon loose durability as you take damage. Keep that in mind before switching.

Or you can also try with rocket launcher Camilla, most of her shot can pass in bad guy shields and damage them. And his unique skill (the missile barrage) is especially usefull and reload quickly.
Yeah. Camilla was super helpful. Her special is really good and her main attack does tons of area-of-effect damage when it hits.

I'll try the sniper again sometime.
I find the first character is fairly easy as well, if only because anything that procs on hit plus his attack speed gets -stupid-.
Just keep playing. Play defensive, dont rush. Learn enemy types, and what they do. Figure out your fav secondary gun type. I can reccomend turrets and pocket drones. Try to save up gold for perk stores and golden chests. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes not. Max hp and damage perks are really good for survival in the end.
If you are ablut to die on a level you can always exit. The game saves and you can continue from start on the same level. Good luck!

Aha! What a good tip this is. I'm tired of replaying the earlier levels
If you're seriously trying to 'beat' a game the 'first' time literally designed around replayability (meaning it expects you to play over and over)

then you should be looking at using a trainer or hack or something,

This is like playing Pac-Man and expecting to 'beat' it the first time playing,

it's not designed around that so you need to circumvent the design of the game by hacking it,

just saying..

(By the way this is a great game, I don't recommend to anyone to try to 'beat' it the first time playing, that's just silly,

the whole point of the game is to play a character and get those cool perks and upgrades to see yourself becoming 'powerful' and then actually having a chance at playing)

Highly recommended one of the best games (for the genre) in my life,

and there are almost no other games like it
No, I just wanted to know if I play the game over and over again, can I get to the end? If so, then it's fine. Some games, like Donkey Kong, you keep playing for points.

I want an ending, so I can stop playing and move onto another game.
