Maze Keeper is extremely unique, and the gameplay is extremely intriguing, with a non-typical story.
You are an unwilling slave to the Demon running the joint and you team up with the guy you're killing over and over again to escape and rescue the spirit of your sister. If the hero escapes once it's game over if you haven't finished the stages goals, otherwise you continue to the next stage.
To avoid to much rambling, I'll shorten to some bullet points:

-I like the treasure system, and using the demon's pact to destroy the hero's treasure at the end of the stage is good, but is heavily weighted towards the hero since he can level by walking, which spawns a chest in his path outside of danger.

-I loath the totem system to the point I've given up on the game. in order to progress past stage 4 you need to collect totems, which are completely atrocious to obtain, as once you spawn one in it will randomly teleport around the stage, meaning that if you don't kill the hero on the tile you spawn the totem the same round you made it, you'll never collect it, as the high end monsters require multiple rounds to set up.

-The story is cute, the Hero is ever filled with optimism and heroism, and the Maze Keeper is there against his will, and his sister is dead. All three are working together to escape the Demon, haven't finished the game due to the Totem system being absolutely awful.

-how to get totems: 1: Have a specific T4 monster die, then it spawns a totem on that space. 2: Place an altar, then the totem in question is placed into draw pool if you have the T4 monster in question present on the map. You can sit on the T4 needed and an altar for 20 rounds and never roll the Totem, once the hero kills the T4 he's strong enough to kill anything else you can throw at him.

It's just not fun trying to collect the totems, game looks and feels like it shouldn't be super hard, but collecting totems alone is absolute agony. I think the game's fun and enjoyable, since steam won't let me have a neutral option, I'll mark it as a thumbs up, as I do like the game more than I dislike it.

Haven't played much, but this game is incredibly addicting and deserves more notice. Devs better not abandon this gem
