Quite an infuriating game.
Mostly because it was so close to being good, but they've missed the mark and ended up with a mediocre title again, just like they always do.
Typical Ubisoft formula, made for profit not passion. As wide as an Ocean, but as deep as a puddle etc etc.

Visually it looks amazing, the art direction and sound is really well done but that's about where it ends.
The characters are annoying and cringe, the dialogue is awful and forced, the story is average, the side quests are boring and the combat/stealth is laughable.

There are so many small things that are so completely stupid, I can't list them all. On their own it's not so bad but the accumulation of so many dumb and ill thought out things really adds up and makes this game laughably bad.
For example, you come across a crashed star destroyer in the desert. It's ancient, in pieces, crumbling to bits, full of sand and rocks etc and you have to climb through the wreckage to get to the bridge.
Oh what's that? a door is locked? Guess we better power up the entire ship reactor just to open the door. Because that thing is totally operational after all this time, and there is literally no other way to get through that door......🙄

And I still can't believe someone signed off on having a stealth game where a scrawny, cookie cutter basic beach can walk up to a fully armoured Storm Trooper and smack them in the side of the head and knock them out. Pathetic.

And other examples where you sneak through an enemy base to steal a relic, all quite like stealthy, then when you reach the relic a cut scene starts and this dopey cow just stands up and casually walks over and grabs this thing, alerting all the guards to our presence, the same guards we just spent 20 minutes sneaking past.

I only recommend this game if you get it for dirt cheap AND that you ignore all the side quests and just focus on the main missions. You might then get a bit of entertainment out of it.
I truly hope Ubisoft goes out of business and CEO falls backwards on a pineapple.

Like many games before this one that Ubisoft has developed, there's some good and bad inside.

The good: Environments, sound design, and ambiance are all definitively Star Wars. It feels like being in the Star Wars universe, even while walking around an outpost or the sands of Tattooine.

The bad: This game is poorly optimized, like most AAA games now. Why bother having quality QA teams polish your game when you can use the customer as a glorified beta tester, and fix some of the most obvious issues well after launch, if at all. Additionally, for an open-world game there isn't as much to do as in previous Ubi titles, but some may see that as a positive. Face animations are janky, and DLSS/FSR does not help visual quality at all. Stealth had major issues at launch, and instead of fixing them Ubisoft decided to just remove the stealth requirements for all missions, and effectively negate the need for being stealthy at any point in the game. For a story that revolves around being an outlaw, thief, and literally planning a heist, it makes zero sense to cripple stealth unless you are a money hungry corp that only cares about shareholders.

Overall, the environments are a treat to enjoy once, but there's little here to keep players coming back for seconds. Buy this game at a deeply discounted sale price, if at all.

Very underrated, 8/10 game. Easily in my top 10, and maybe even top 5 Star Wars games played, and there have been a lot! The Jedi Survivor series are probably my favourites, for context.
Open worlds, but not big enough to make you bored. Clear story arc with interesting characters and quests to follow. Various Factions to side with. Optional missions are samey but short and sweet. Stealth is 90% optional.
A mini game that is fun, not quite Gwent, but good enough for a distraction.
Upgrade system is interesting. Oh, and no lightsabers!
