They should've just done what overwatch 2 did.
Just slap port everything over. The idea that it's taking MONTHS to get out not even a QUARTER of the roster is like actually insane. and don't give me that "it's still in beta" it's been in beta for a year. hi rez has failed as a company. it's really pathetic

They are releasing 2 gods a month sometimes more and adding plus ones and aspects in most cases when released or shortly after. These Smite 2 versions are better than original smite, Hou yi being the latest example. All with a way smaller team after the layoffs

You do realize that porting the gods over would just have them all be low quality and alot of stuff would be broken

well 66/130 is actually more than half the roster lol

I honestly thought that Overwatch 2 was the worst handled live service sequel game until Smite 2 came out. At least with Overwatch 2 we got to keep everything we had in Overwatch 1, they just failed miserably to deliver what was promised.

With Smite 2, it literally just feels like they are playing catch up with Smite 1. Sure they have roughly half the Smite 1 roster in Smite 2, however even if they port a Smite 1 god every 2 weeks its still roughly 2.5 years until all Smite 1 gods are in Smite 2, and that doesn't include the new god releases.

To me Smite 2 is just a disappointment, Getting a rushed Smite port on UE5 with item changes and aspects does not make up for loosing 10+ years of Smite 1 development.

congratulating them on releasing 2 gods a month after layoffs is... crazy work. you're saying "releasing gods" as though theyre putting in a bunch of effort. the gods already exist

to be fair, many mechanics and such change, despite still being the same powers.
imo, if theyre gonna waste your time and keep you coming back tomorrow with this extended god-release carrot-stick behaviour, the least they can do is port bona fide new gods, like hecate, mordred, aladdin, jesus etc, FIRST.
