You’ll investigate three unfinished films - each essentially a full-length movie - along with behind-the-scenes footage, piecing together connections through objects and scenes.

The gameplay feels like an interactive puzzle: there’s no traditional action, only pure observation, investigation, and deep immersion in the mystery. It plays like a video-editing nightmare , where you’re not controlling events but witnessing something unsettling unfold. Many scenes are shot in a single continuous take, creating an unparalleled sense of realism and engagement.

Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of Lars von Trier’s "Dogville" and the experimental storytelling of Netflix’s "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch", Immortality offers a mesmerizing yet haunting experience. This is a story where the truth is hidden between the frames - and only the most attentive viewer can decipher it. A huge recommendation for cinematography lovers; otherwise, it may be a strange experience.

To be honest this game is 90% atmosphere, 9% controller wrangling and 1% gameplay. But the atmosphere really does make it worth it. The peculiar story that unfolds as you view and rewind footage draws you in, the occasional music add an almost horror air, and the people involved in these doomed projects are fascinating and real.

You quickly start asking questions and I found myself desperate to seek answers and piece together the puzzle myself, it doesn't just gift you the answer or tell you when you've got something 'right' with a little ditty. It's a fascinating tale and for FMV fans one worth checking out. For non-FMV fans and those that need gameplay this might be one to try, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
