A dream puzzle game that has provided me with countless aha moments. I could never imagine how the designers came up with those snowman levels.

Monster's Expedition is the next Stephen's Sausage Roll.

There used to be one problem with this game; there are lots of hidden puzzles in the game, but some of them are hidden so well that it used to be a huge pain to find them all. Now, the game has been updated with a hint system so that finding all of the hidden things is a fun, and fair, challenge.

This is pretty much the perfect puzzle exploration game.

A Monster's Expedition quickly loses its charm in its extremely poor level design. Paths branch to a degree that completely obfuscates the way forward, barring access to game-play. Instead of being allowed to solve puzzles one after another in increasing complexity, the player is forced to spend the majority of their playtime frustrated that the time sink of any random complex puzzle did not net them any progress.

It is impossible to seek help from guides logged by the player base either. The game has gone through so many iterations that any advice available is absolutely meaningless to the current state of the game. All fault falls to the map itself--prohibitive to progress and blended together nonsensically without clear connections to even chart a path. It is clear that the game's map has been twisted around so many times that the initial design has been completely lost, now an indecipherable mess of randomly peppered in "new content".

I finished this game, stubborn and frustrated. I cannot recommend this as a satisfying puzzle experience.
