How to use on existing save
To use on an existing save you need to edit the .modinfo file
  1. Go to your steam directory and make your way to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070\970184582
  2. Open RemovableDistricts.modinfo with Notepad
  3. Look for
    <CompatibleVersions>2.0</CompatibleVersions>
    and under it paste
    <AffectsSavedGames>0</AffectsSavedGames>
  4. Save and close

How it should look like after
<CompatibleVersions>2.0</CompatibleVersions> <AffectsSavedGames>0</AffectsSavedGames> </Properties>

No need, thank you tough. Enjoy! :steamhappy:
As of 2024-12-26 this worked, in vanilla civ6, but I had to restart the game. Changing the mod file and NOT restarting the game (just loading a savegame) did NOT enable the remove district projects on games, started without the mod.

(Maybe it suffices to disable and enable the mod, but I did not test that).

I doubt that would suffice, the mod is probably already loaded in.

It makes sense you'd have to reload the mod/game.
I dont even have a folder named 289070, what to do?

Then you don't have Civ 6 installed, or any Civ 6 mods installed, one of those.

I think I misread.

Just loading a saved game in the Vanilla or Rise and Fall ruleset will not load any mods that don't affect saved games.

By adding the line that makes it not affect saved games, you are making so it only works with the Gathering Storm ruleset.

The exception is when you first start a game with the other rulesets. It will load then, but not when you load a save of said game.

Terrible bug.
I've found a solution here:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/394360/discussions/0/366298942104384297/

Basically somehow steam was saving my workshop mods in the second drive which I'm basically not using

This PC --> Local Disk (E:) --> SteamLibrary --> steamapps --> workshop ---> content --> 289070
