Jon Snow doesn't return to the party.

So during the quest The Lands of Always Winter I had a fight with Tormund's army, we lost and Jon got imprisoned at the Fist of the First Men. There war vanilla mini-quest to get him out but after the fight with the guards he doesn't appear at all. Any thoughts?
