and for those who have their own kingdom how does one properly expand it ? (unlike other factions you start at ground zero)
um when you leave a faction you lose all the properties ? what are the penalties
I believe the best way to create your own faction is too break alliegence when your king refuse to reward you a castle that you captured. Then you will keep all towns and castles that you are a lord of.
There is a quest by going to the Crossroads in and talking to a knight there (Ser Janis Lyren). He gives you a quest to find an acient castle in Essos and restore it, it gives you a castle, a village and your own faction. However I do not know if this quest properly works when you do it while being another lords vassal.
Yes, I believe this is the best way to do so.
