Sorry, can you expand on that? Are you saying I can break the Truce by declaring war myself if I'm allied to one of the two factions in a Truce? I'm still kind of new to the mod.
If I'm not allied to either faction, I assume the Truce still stands between their two factions.
Btw, I've also reported this Truce issue on their main Discord. Several others have also, so hopefully it gets a hotfix.
If you manage to construct your own kingdom, you can declare war on the faction that you have a permanent truce with in order to remove it by sending an embassy. However, this is a short term 'fix' to the situation as the potential of encountering this bug is still prevalent if you want peace with the faction you're at war with.
As stated previously, this comes with a cost of losing player reputation and relation with your vassals, this depends on the personality of your vassals. In my play through I managed to lose -3 or -4 relation points with my vassals, each one being upstanding.
I recommend not accepting any truces or asking for truces if you don't want to encounter this bug, you may as well continue fighting until the faction loses all their territories (castles, towns, villages) because from what I can tell their is no other solution I know that can break the permanent truce.
I'm sure this bug doesn't effect AI factions that go into truces, I remember they could go to war with the same faction they had a truce with when the 20 days were over. However, I could remember one time this bug did effect other factions. So take this for granted. I don't know how to break their truces though. Don't use static wars, rather use the vanilla warband one if you ever manage to get into a situation like this.
PS: I'm not sure if you can encounter a Casus Belli situation with the faction your in truce with in order to negate the consequences of declaring war, I could be wrong. And you're right about the Casus Belli being stuck at the 30 day mark.
PPS: For allied factions, I'm not certain about that particular part of the mod, I usually skip over that mechanic. I haven't tried that out, but it may or may not work.
From what people have tested though, what mode you pick shouldn't matter. The bug should be affecting your game also, at least until you start seeing Truces and anything with a countdown turn timer in the relations window.
Not sure on that quest. I'll keep an eye out.
