King's Guard Companions
is there any way to get the king's guards to serve me? Do i have to become king?

Assuming youre talking about gold cloaks. You can recruit them if you take kings landing. Just like if you take castlery rock you get lannister troops and so on.

No, I mean the King's Guard. Jaime Lannister, for example.

In order to recruit the kingsguard under Jofferys command is to free them when they're prisoner.
This is pretty difficult because of how Joffery never leaves Kingslanding

I also heard you can recruit them if you take them prisoner but I have not yet encountered this
