Can't be done.
What if some one is on the edge of a platform, and cracks appear from nowhere?
What if 4 heavies do this in a server and makes the entire server lag?
You can't do that due how Source engine works, the "cracks you call" are just decals placed on map just like bullet holes, the only way to do that is in Hammer Editor, with decal tool, or other tool that just places texture 1:1 (forgot the name). It's very hard to draw decals at specific coordinates, but it could be done if cracks are apart of the model of dumbells them selfs just placed on ground level so it looks real.
Exactly what I said, trough it would be cool to figure out a specific key frame of animation, and draw a decal...
It doesnt work like that.
