How do I set up a Alliance background door?
I've been experimenting for awhile to get this door to work, changing the way the wiring for it, and trying to see what works and I just can't seem to get it to work.

The bottom input node connects to the output node of other doors: link up the doors like in this screenshot to connect them together: https://i.imgur.com/BzevgtK.png

The output node determines where a door will teleport you, so you can also make one-way teleporters by only connecting the output to another door's bottom input. The above screenshot creates a loop connection, which is what you'll likely use in most cases!

The middle input node is the lock node: if there's a wire connected to it, you can lock the door using a switch. If there is an active wire connected, the door is open, while an inactive wire means the door is locked. If there's no wire connected, the door is always unlocked!

You can only interact with a door if its output node is properly connected to another door: if you connect it to some other object or don't connect the output at all, the door won't be interactive and won't get highlighted when you hover over it.

Let me know if you need any more info!

Yes, it worked!!!Thank you so much.I was accidentally putting the output in the other doors top input.
hey if i may ask a question how can i extend the reach of the nodes? im trying to make my custom ship bigger without expanding the ship size and i seem to be going out of the doors reach.

As far as I know, there's currently no way to extend wire length. It's possible to wire up a number of objects in sequence to extend a signal, but that doesn't work for these background doors. They don't actually use the wire signal, but rather use that connection to check the connected object directly.
ahhhh crud, at least i know thank you

I'm doing it like the screenshot but it still isn't working for some reason, I'll tag a screenshot https://imgur.com/a/vPoMkSO

I placed the item but don't get any nodes showing up when using the wire tool. Am I doing something wrong?

It's interesting... if you use a mod to increase your zoom level, you can extend the range of your doors significantly. However, you can't get the same results by placing a bunch of active watchers along the wire path to keep the whole thing chunk-loaded... I don't really want to zoom in / out every time I use my doors, but there must be some other way to get this to work.

It might be possible to use something similar to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/starbound/comments/byi5x4/my_take_on_making_indoor_roomsareas_i_would_love/

It would require admin / being able to spawn in a custom item. It is not exactly a door and is basically a teleporter, but it might be a solution for two "doors" that are far apart from each other.
