Suppressors and Shadowstrike: post your opinions here!
To all the folks pointing out that the Shadowstrike + Suppressor synergy is amazing, yes, it's pretty awesome to have your concealed scout off in the flanks picking people off from the shadows with their SMG while your primary force deals with them directly. That's kind of the point!

The big drawback is that you *really* want the concealed scout to be flanking the things he is shooting at so that he can kill them reliably without breaking concealment, and this will rack up suspicion pretty quickly. The last thing you need is to roll the dice on suspicion and have your concealment break while you're way out in the wilds all alone and in sight of another pod (or three). I think this is the primary drawback to using this synergy: the successes are spectacular, but the failures also tend to be pretty spectacular.

Suppressors are also pretty amazing on sharpshooters, especially the ones with Phantom, since they can frequently get concealed killshots on inactive enemies standing out in the open, even if the squad has been discovered. Just be mindful that when you pop a guy in an inactive pod, the rest will freak out and typically dash in the direction the shot came from, and this can be a big surprise to your spotter who's hiding behind that garbage can when the big nasty muton runs up and trips over him!

I think the way the suppressors in this mod currently work is probably how they *should* work. If you're building a balanced squad, you'll typically only have a couple of guys who can use these from the shadows throughout the mission, and that's fine, because they're still taking a pretty big risk sneaking around (looking at you, scout drones!). If you're building a squad of nothing but Shinobi with Shadowstrike and Suppressors then sure, they're probably going to be able to do a LOT of damage very quickly, and if they take out the last guy in the pod, their suspicion will reset to 0. It's when they do get discovered that they're going to be in pretty big trouble, because at that point the squad will have virtually zero tools to deal with anything, since they were built exclusively to attack from concealment. This seems pretty balanced to me.

Completely agree. This actually makes stealth fun, viable, and alot less tedious. To explain: Enemy pods track you. The closer you get to the objective the closer they will hone in on your position. They only do this on objective based missions.

Consider how large some of the maps are, especially with map packs and LW2. When's the last time you did a mission mostly stealthy and didn't see every pod? Every drone? How does ADVENT know they don't need to patrol, say, a block over?

This is manageable early game, but when ADVENT deploys Hunter Drones it's impossible for anything but Shinobis to remain hidden - covert is a huge bonus.

Why can you plant X4 to destroy a three story statue of Cthulhu's ♥♥♥♥, but can't, for instance, do the same to a relay? Why can't I rig an entire street with enough X4 to destroy an entire troop column?

We're resistance fighters, not supersoldiers. We should be able to sneak in and out, plant mines, etc, etc.

Back to the suppressors: they should not interfere with perks at all. Shadowstrike should synergize as much as it does. Plotting your way through a mission with a four man squad solely built off of stealth does not make the game easier, as it's still hard [to pull of on maps with large groups]. It makes those 2-4 man Free Prisoners missions more interesting, dynamic, and enjoyable.

There's also counters to a Shinobi with Ghostwalker spotting for a Sniper - Archons. They're fast, flying, tanky, and dangerous. If you try to snipe a guy in a pod with Archons, your Sniper will be bumrushed by the Floaters from Heaven. And he'll die.

You can disable Shadowstrike in the XComLW2TacticalSuppressors.ini
Regarding X4, did you see my Tactical X4 mod? I might be suited for your desire to blow advent up ;)

Thanks for the info on the suppressors! Also, I will check out the X4. It just sounds so awesome - something both the dev's and Pavonis really overlooked, IMO. I cannot wait to blow those smug Mor Balabtan guys to hell.
