My idea for stats
Since it appears to be a spraying device, let's treat it as such.

The decontaminator would be fired in individual charges, either with a finite amount of ammo or a regenerating bar.

When fired, it would briefly spray out a gas in a pattern similar to the flamethrower. This gas will linger.

The gas could deal slow/medium damage over time, making it a sort of area-denial kind of weapon, hence the name. It could be "Decontaminating" the area of enemies.

I feel like instead of the gas doing damage, the round fired could act like the gas can and drench them in gasoline, and it could act like the manmelter and extinguish teammates to give all your weapons crits for 8 seconds. How does that sound?

Well good news! The Gas Passer got buffed in the 2024 Summer Update! It can crits with the Neon Annihilator!
