Fighters... what?
So I played in command view of a battle, and some antarans attacked my planet with a starbase and a missile base and one destroyer that I had some fighter bays on. The fighters would launch and head toward the target. The target gets destroyed by the fixed defenses and the fighters then.... head back to the ship? the entire fight the fighters just yo-yo'd like that, ignoring the fact there are multiple bad guys still shooting at me.

Is this stupid MOO code or is that a bug? They SHOULD continue on to the next target.

And I'm a dummy, I noticed these were BOMBERS not fighters. It still sucks they won't divert to the next closest target but the logic makes a tiny bit more sense.

Apparently I missed this thread for some reason. The devs never programmed in automatic retargeting for fighters and bombers for some reason. I think WhatIsSol added it to his unofficial patch though.

It was created by WhatIsSol. It fixes a number of bugs in the game and adds several enhancements to the game including AI improvements and UI improvments, which you can read about on the readme section of the mod page. I highly recommend it

Imho UCP and 5X are necessities.
It is nice to see carriers being viable late game.
