After talking to the three people and going to the mines in solitude I cannot find the doppelgänger east of the docks?

@bbrayer335 there should be a big ship slightly east of the docks, there's a hidden trap door on the side, use the key to get through it.

@sp00ky syn when you find the ship east of the docks, when you stand directly behind it and look at it the trap door is on the left side. It's half way in the water.

Love it so far! Very Witcher-esque and fun to solve it by yourself. No hand-holding is an excellent touch! However, I just killed the Dopple(gange)r and don't know what to do next. I could go to Whiterun and join, but I don't think that's the next step. I would assume clear my name, so I talked to the guard and the guy who posted the bounty, but nothing.

I'm still not finding the mines! I went to Katla's Farm, and searched all over, but I can't locate it at all!

@renfar go down the road directly from the solitude entrance, before you turn to go the that farm turn right and you'll see the mines. It's covered in brown boulders.
