a little help with patching a race?

tried to patch a race , but it either does nothing to stats or crashes game with

[Error] Application: exception thrown, shutting down: (AssetException) Error loading asset /species/koboldracebobbymonboy.species

maybe I made a mistake somewhere, I dunno
please help!
