Time to chop up all the props in the intro mission and turn them all into blocks n such!
@AcidChalk - Genius.

a aannd... it should be it's own planet-type! That way you can find planets with cities in the background and you're on the outskirts, or heck maybe hyotl cities generated on the surface... it'd be a great addition!
you could have it generate the skyscrapers too instead of dirt, to where you gotta dig down into the buildings to get to ground.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Making a own planet type is what i wanted to do.
But i wasnt be able to make yet
If making it it's own planet type isn't possible, would making an object that, when placed, spawns the background be more feasable? That way you could build up a planet then add a new background without mod conflicts or lore inconsistencies. Also, could you bring the city background closer and remove the trees and grass that there is in between in the background?
possibly whenever you go near a spawned city of npcs the background changes to this maybe in an apex town or hylotl underwater city
I agree with cnlbrr96 , for now , the fact that it replaces ALL the lush planets is a bit confusing .
In the best scenario , we should be able to change any planet background to this one to allow construction of Real Futuristic Cities , anyway , thanks for the work you've done !
I also agree with cnlbrr96, but I'm also thinking that the item would only take effect once a certain amount of npcs inhabit the planet (It would only count npcs in your colony, spwaned by either colony deeds or quests. I'm thinking around 10 at a minimum.) It would also be nice to see said item change the backround acording to the total amount of Npcs. (10 for a small town, 20 for a small city, and 40 for a full blown city.) This would probably need a LOT of programing and stuff to get working, though, so having it as cnlbrr96 describes would be a nice point to leave it at until you get it fully working

i dont think something like that is possible, since the background is already generated when you visit the planet for the first time.
A mod that alters the paralax doesnt take effect on the planet when its already generated.

it was just an idea, thats all.
Could this be added to a barren planet?
So if it is possible , the best thing to do is to make only a half or a quarter of the lush planet being generated with it .
As far as I'm aware, every planet has one main biome. That biome determines the parallax.. as far as I'm aware... like how there is an Earth biome, nad it has the Earth parallax, used in the first mission.

I don't think only PART of the planet can be generated like that, not unless old world gen where you could find molten rock on a snow planet returns.

If that's the case, then making a new planet type is the best bet. If the mod author wants to, of course. It's really good as a proof of concept, but I think the consensus here is that replacing lush planets completely is just waaay to jarring.

I'm surprised chucklefish don't give us the option to change the parallax after it is loaded in. Does that mean we'll never have terraforming unless they decide to add it themselves?
Why is there no City-Planet in the first place ? Should have made a better resting point than the Outpost
